yes it does. The last one i calculated for my last client in Nigeria was 19 usd. When you add royalty, gas flaring penalties, maintenance costs, community settlements, pipeline costs and storage, expatriates, materials etc. Its over 20 dols per barrell. The company lost over a million barrels in 2019 to theft

The problem of the country isn't diversification as we mostly believe, our economy is already largely diversified. Our major problem is the diversification of our foreign trade. 90% of our foreign exports revenue is still oil, we need to find a solution to adding value chain to production. It is not just enough we produce plenty tuber of yams or cocoa, what is point of exporting Cocoa for $1 then importing chocolate for $10?Why can't we seem to crack tourism? The government needs to provide the right infrastructure to stimulate growth in various sector of the economy.
