There has been for sometime now a rift between The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, with regards to the elections in Edo state, and on Tuesday they criticised each other over  the first degree certificate presented by the governor from the University of Ibadan.

The APC chairman in Abuja at the inauguration of the APC’s screening and appeal committees for its members contesting governorship  primary in Edo State, expressed his doubt over the authenticity of Obaseki’s UI certificate.

In response, the governor, via his spokesman, Crusoe Osagie, told Oshiomhole to go and confirm the authenticity of his certificate at the UI. He also said the national chairman should tell Nigerians the university he attended.

The rift, which has been ongoing since last year between Obaseki and the APC chairman has defied all efforts of the APC governors and the chairman of the Dangote group, Aliko Dangote, to reconcile the two leaders.
