If you don't know the meaning of sleight of hand I suggest you look it up.

You read whatever meaning you wanted into the post thinking I am a Christian so you came to defend thinking your Islamic faith is under attack. Think again.

*There is sleight of hand attempted when talking about the origin of the Quran.

*It is made to seem like the book was delivered fully written by an angel.

*There is nothing spetacular about the process of revelation of the Quran.

So, you wrote all what is upthere in a single comment and you say you are not criticizing. I need not to read between the line to notice your antipathy towards the Holy Quran because it's too glaring, it doesn't matter wheither you are christian or not.

I should go and look up for the meaning of sleight of hand?

If there is dissimilarity in your intended meaning and my own understanding of it; skillful manipulating of truth to won advantage or tocover up the truth, heeding to how you used it in your comment and the environment the phrase keeps, then you need to be explicit next time and refrain from using ambiguities when practising usage of words.

Even after distilling my post you still cannot fathom that my argument is against any sort of divine/supernatural origin for the Quran?

Lol! His mind is conditioned to think Qur'an has a divine origin. He is exercising confirmation bias, so he cannot understand what you wrote. Quite unfortunate.

It is, he was so quick to assume I am Christian and launched into Quran vs Bible as though that would prove anything.

BTW you need to teach me about Qira'at and Ahruf.

No problem grin

Na small thing. I'm sure in the next 50 years maximum, Muslim will be using another argument, because Qur'an 100% preservation would have become obsolete.

I remember when I was in ilé kewu (Islamic school), there is a verse that our teacher use to explain to us in which it states that only Allah knows what is in the womb of a pregnant woman, only him can cause rain to fall. The list is like five.

Today, human know almost everything about the feutus. Today, human causes rain to fall using some chemicals.

Last time I heard the pregnancy argument, the Apologist says what Allah was referring to is the destiny of the child. He concluded that no one can know the child destiny. What a stupid argument grin

@bolded, I believed in it too in the past. But Qur'an says opposite. Qur'an agree that there is ambiguities in it

(Qur'an 3:7) It is He Who has revealed the Book to you. Some of its verses are absolutely clear and lucid, and these are the core of the Book. Others are ambiguous. Those in whose hearts there is perversity, always go about the part which is ambiguous, seeking mischief and seeking to arrive at its meaning arbitrarily, although none knows their true meaning except Allah. On the contrary, those firmly rooted in knowledge say: 'We believe in it; it is all from our Lord alone. No one derives true admonition from anything except the men of understanding.

Qur'an claims we have mischievous in our mind and that's why we seek the meaning of the ambiguous verses grin. Why did the creator of the whole universe gave us book that contain ambiguity in the first place. I smell scam grin

In as much as I'll welcome contrary opinion, I would be glad and implore you to read the statement you quote again before you misinterpreted the point. *Islam means peace*...

stfu. Peace where. Who are Isis, isil, bokoharam killing in your country. Foh

LMHO, What is the difference between this your attitude and those criminals you referenced.

For clarity sake, to the best of my knowledge, terrorism is not peculiar to any religion but a tool used by the global powers to create tensions and divisions. And they don't care about the consequences.

Last time I checked, Hillary Clinton in one of her previous interviews stated and I quote that the west created islamic jihadist to fight corrupt monarchists.

Most recent, the Army General of Iran killed by US drone in IRAQ worked with the United States military forces for years, but they claimed that he was a terrorist financier to justify his assassination.

My point is that whoever controls the piper dictates the tone, and also narrate the story to suite their agenda.

Finally, I believe in this age of ours, we have unlimited assess to information but our problem is that we let our biasness to becloud our judgments.

I believe you or I doesn't have anything to gain in pointing fingers, but I hope we can see beyond the hypocrisy and help make the world a better place for humanity.

Shalom.

It's so disheartening to see people are unlearned.

The best of mankind seeks knowledge.

Ask yourselves if your claims are based on hearsay and blasphemy, or you are well informed with fact before you start smearing Islam as well as misleading other people.

Don't be surprised that a lot of Muslims research on Christianity and other secular religions. But, can you confidently say if other religion devoters have also put such efforts to understand the Islamic doctrines.

Islam means peace. And the fascinating part of it is that there is no ambiguity of any forms in it as a religion of the Almighty - Believe in oneness of God and His messengers, pray to Him as the creator of heaven and earth; gives arms to the poor; and go to pilgrimage if you're opportune.
Read again as you suggested.

If others study Islam from unbiased source, they will be exposed to the dark side of Islam. So it's better for Muslims that non Muslim don't study Islam. The few non Muslims that study Islam (such as David wóod) are exposing Islam daily

Also, many Muslims that you claimed study other religions do not study them without bias mindset. If they are sincere in their study, they'll realise that Islam is not unique. How many Muslim study Christianity from a Christian theologian. No be from zakir naik and Co una they study Christianity? I was in your shoes

And NO I don't give a damn about Christianity. It's same búll shít just like islam

Should I go on? grin

I see that we as individuals tend to defend the side of issues that we believe in.

Here, I will take a break to smile a bit.

Firstly, regarding the Islamic Scholars you quoted, anyways I am not.

On the contrary, I understand why you refer to Islamic scholars because that's what you do, as you've rightly referred me to Christian apologist you follow. What this tells me is that your biasness are skewed by their preachings.

Even the David wood you refer to has been condemned not by Muslims but by Christians historians like Michael carrier. For details, you may visit https://www.richardcarrier.info/contrawood.html.

Why am I even going this far, I hope I will see anyone that can convince me about their understanding of Christianity because from what I know as of today, Christian apologists accept the flaws in their doctrine. So the best they could offer is to show that Islam is flawed too. While the clarity in Islam as I have mentioned earlier is based on the five pillars of Islamic doctrine. And anything more or less is alien and must be expunged.

You know what, we are taught from my culture - don't play near a palm-oil sellers or even worse pigs (in anyway I am not referring to you personally here) so that I won't soil my white attire.

This is the best you can offer, and what I read is CONFUSION.

I wish I can understand what is on your mind, because I don't know if you understand Arabic or you derive your conclusion from what you're been fed.
