In what appears to be a warning of anticipated bomb attacks, Nigeria's State Security Service, yesterday issued what they termed a Public Safety Alert, during a Press Briefing held at its Magnificient National Headquarters, in high brow Asokoro, Abuja.
The SSS Public Relations Officer, Marilyn Ogar stated that,

"Today enemies among us have chosen to be killing our defenseless children, women and innocent men through widespread use of Improved Explosive Devices (IEDs), for unjust and selfish causes".

The agency described recent bombings as a trend of terrorism that is imported into the country. It further stated that though security agencies are prepared to contain the menace, it also requires collective effort, especially increased consciousness on the part of the public.They urged Nigerians to report strange faces and movements to the nearest security personnel.

It is the agency's view that with increased vigilance by every Nigerian and resident foreign national, the society can be made very uncomfortable for terrorists to operate, especially those whose modus operandi is deployment of IEDs. The Agency went ahead to reel out a long lie of safety precautions that Nigerians should take to be more vigilant over their immediate surrounding.
