It may not be a problem now, it will be later. The Gov ought to also have a big working refinery of their own

I disagree.

The Government should ideally focus on governance, and not be distracted by running enterprises that must compete with wholly owned private companies to survive. Its a waste of governments time and money, and always ends up in premium tears.

Failure to recognise that fact is why government businesses, from NITEL to the Refineries, have continued to fail and pack up. The Government's role is to regulate & provide a conducive atmosphere for business.

Finito.

You have a point, but a single company having monopoly over a product is not something good either.

If you have a crack or chip on your windshield and you happen to be reading this, do well to contact me on the numbers on my signature below. Cracks on windshield are very much repairable and the replacement cost saved with the help of a UV-aided modern technology. The earlier a crack or chip is repaired the better the result and the safer and healthier the windshield, as a professionally done glass repair ultimately ends any chance of a spread or further running of the crack in addition to restoring the windshield to a near perfect state without any sign of a damage.
Thank you.

Dont degrade anyone`s work by adding some Fake News in it.

This is not going to be even in Top 5, also the most crucial factor is not only the Refining capacity but the Standard of the Fuel it produces,

Worlds Most clean fuel are Euro VI / BS VI fuel standards, Only Japan, Germany and India have capabilities at the moment to produce.

While in this Continent we are using non standards or Euro 2 /BS 2 fuel.
I was not able to find a single literature where it says Dnagote will produce Euro III / BS III standard fuel. lets not discuss about higher ones.

Rossikk:
Dangote Refinery, Lagos

The refinery is situated on a 6,180 acres (2,500 hectares) site at the Lekki Free Zone, Lekki, Lagos State.

With a single crude oil distillation unit, the refinery will be the largest single-train refinery in the world on completion.

you may be wrong, the removal of fuel subsidy is an indication that dangote will soon enter the market, the government is setting the stage for his cut throat , Shylock price

This is one of the reasons the TAM for the 4 refineries will never work regardless of how much money will be pumped into it between now and 2023.

This refinery will have monopoly to refine all the crude oil for domestic consumption
Nigerians should fight and break this guy's monopoly as regards this petroleum thing otherwise he will show Nigerians pepper like he did with sugar and cement
The guy is not nice at all

He has to recoup his investment. He will show Nigerians pepper and there is nothing we can do about it.

They will intentionally not make the refineries ever work, so he maintains the monopoly.

In as much as this seems to be a good news, I think it is bad timing.. in a period when the value of oil is plummeting as countries are looking for new ways to get energy, he should have invested elsewhere, where there seems to be future. Well all the best to him tho
You're right. But at least we would be able to refine a very large percentage of our fuel instead of exporting it to be refined. Hence we would be able to channel those expenses to another project...

No, fuel subsidy was removed cos oil was sold below $20 then, once oil bounce back to let's say $50 this government through NNPC might be paying subsidy again. They have no choice. Cos if they don't fuel might rise to ₦200+ per litre
