Barring all odds, the erstwhile Deputy National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-West Zone, Chief Olabode George, alongside five other former directors of the Nigeria Ports Authority from prison may be released February 26. Saturday Tribune’s findings at the prison custody during the week in Lagos revealed that one of the convicts, Alhaji Aminu Dabo, was still on admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) over an undisclosed health reason. A prison source told Saturday Tribune that Dabo is still at LUTH on admission, but highlighted that the former NPA MD may be brought to the maximum security prisons on the day of their release to sign the necessary papers It was further learnt that Chief George and four others have been in high spirits, as they were said to have been looking forward to breathing an air of freedom once again very soon. Another source, who was also on a private visit to the prison, informed Saturday Tribune that George was being expected to lead the campaign train of his godson and governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos State in the forthcoming general elections, Dr. Adegboyega Dosunmu. The source, who craved for anonymity, disclosed that some chieftains of the party, both within and outside Lagos, among whom were a former Minister of State for the Interior, Chief Ademola Seriki; governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel and former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, visited the PDP chieftain in the recent times at the prisons custody. http://tribune.com.ng/sat/index.php/news/3288-bode-george-leaves-prison-february-26.html |
