Young people have been captured on camera taking over the residence of the Malian president, Ibrahim Boubakar Keïta, after yesterday’s incident that came as a surprising movement to many.

Yesterday, multiple reports confirmed that the Malian President, Ibrahim Boubakar Keïta was arrested by mutinying soldiers. They first rocked the military base with shots of firearms before proceeding to arrest the president.

In the centre of Bamako, young men looted a government-owned building and set it on fire.



The mutiny has been condemned by regional group Ecowas and former colonial power France.

The unrest coincides with calls for more protests to demand that the president should resign.

After his arrest yesterday, youths were seen taking over the presidential villa, as they turn his residence to playing group.

The Video Surfaced online yesterday and was published on Torixus Instagram page with the below caption; “Mali’s Presidential Villa has been taken over by young protesters following President Keita’s arrest by the Army”.
