The Academic Staff Union of Universities,ASUU says it has reached an agreement with the Federal Government on new payment system for universities.

ASUU National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi made this known to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ogunyemi said the federal government has accepted the University Transparency and Accountability Solution,UTAS,an alternative software being recommended by the union for the financial administration of the University’s Federal Government staff monthly payroll and accounting processes.

According to him, the federal government had also pledged that when fully developed,UTAS will be subjected to integrity tests in order to verify its efficacy .

Ogunyemi disclosed that the Union had given a time frame of 18 months to the government to develop,test and deploy UTAS in keeping with the promise adding that UTAS is now ready for the integrity tests required by government.

ASUU had declared strike on March 17,2020 following failure of government to meet demands which included removal of the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System, IPPIS payment scheme for Universities.

Universities are scamming Nigerians uniport in particular. There are some documents u would want to go and collect from the University and they would be asking u to give them original payment receipt before u can collect it.

Same clearance receipt that they know they are in possession of that they took from u before they gave u ur cert they will tell u to provide it, when u don't they will tell u to pay the money again.


Uniport will tell u to pay for graduation gown, and ask u to deposit 12,000 for it, after paying for the gown and returning they will not agree to refund u back your #12000 deposit.


Criminals

So schools will resume soon.

But marlians will not be happy with this news
