Before the PDP primaries, someone on NairaLand made a logical proof as to why GEJ will never win the primaries- he had many supporters, but then GEJ won. So again I ask, what if GEJ wins in April, what will these anti GEJ propagandists do?

Re: What If Gej Wins? by Muza(m): 10:06pm On Feb 19, 2011

He CANNOT win in a free and fair elction so he resulted to bribery and intimidation during the PDP primaries. The same would go for the main election.
Re: What If Gej Wins? by againstGEJ(m): 10:35pm On Feb 19, 2011
This is playing out already. After BB and Ribadu looses the elections, they will begin to shout rigging and bla bla bla. We all know the drift.

When you loose, shout foul. This is unfolding right here.

GEJ's victory will be the best thing to happen to Nigeria.

We need to build a country. What we now have is a mere piece of land to which each of us belongs by accident of birth, rather than patriotic zeal (as in the US for example).
Jonathans election and the breaking of the cabal will be another milestone toward the building of a country we can all be proud of.

You are now Musiwa and becomrich. You write with beaf you answer with againstGJ.

Is he not part of the cabal he dismantled? When Yara Dudu was incharge GJ was part of the cabal. If you are not part of the cabal you can't cross aso rock.
So cabal is still intact but now they answer to OBJ. So you can call it OBJ cabal instead of Yara Dudu Cabal.
Re: What If Gej Wins? by Wadeoye(m): 11:13pm On Feb 19, 2011
GEJ can only intimidate members of his party. Any attempt to intimidate anybody during the general election will back fire. People will vote freely and their votes must count.

I am waiting to see how GEJ will defeat BB combination in a free and fair poll! It is getting clearer by the day that their so called block vote may only come from South South - 7m out of 67m votes that we are expecting.

You need to take a careful look back into history and avoid speculation and assumptions. Take a look at Nigeria's structure and learn.
The following ex-Nigerian leaders have been involved in every govt or coup since 1966:
[li]Abacha[/li]
[li]Babangida[/li]
[li]Buhari[/li]
IBB stepped aside from govt and Abacha whom he had left in place to oversee Shonekans interim govt, took over. When Abacha died, Abdulsalami Abubakar (IBB's cousin) claimed the reins of power. At the dawn of the democratic dispensation, Obasanjo was brought out of jail by IBB, so that the cabal could continue ruling by proxy through Atiku (with Obj as figurehead).

Obj broke free, dealt sharply with Atiku and played a joker with Yar Adua, who died allowing GEJ to ascend. This angered the cabal no end, we all know the antics of Ciroma, Yakasai, Kaita, Bello etc, as well as their monkey, Ibori.

As educated folk, we need to think deeply and strategically about what is best for our country and our kids. GEJ really is Fresh Air, we need to give him a chance so that ethnicaly bigoted politics and the enslavement of the average Nigerian can be defeated forever. He is the gateway.
Re: What If Gej Wins? by Nobody: 2:51am On Feb 20, 2011
the only thing we stand to gain from a gej administration is pacification of the nd because their son is aso rock

considering the unresolved october 1 bombing, and john togo, that is tenuous at best

other than that expect business worse than before

gej has beaten ibb hands down with the unaccounted waste of the ECA account

his ineptitude in dealing with the security issus in the country,

his willingness to use the SSS to go after his political opponents and critics

his wife who has persisted with the illegal office of the first lady

his inability to prosecute any one for the halliburton scandals, or to call for an investigation into the pfizer scandal

his increasingly bizarre public gaffes

his admissions that he is inexperienced and was selected

his stark hypocrisy

i see very dark days ahead for all of us.

Re: What If Gej Wins? by doja(m): 7:31am On Feb 20, 2011
GEJ would have become a well respected african leader had he decided not to contest this election using the opportunity he has now to organise a very credible election he would command respect everywhere in the country and the world and he could grow to become a political reference point .

He has been advised to do otherwise and it is so sad he has lost an opportunity to write his name in gold. As for the elections, if he wins, Nigeria as a country is domed.

I cant imagine we are going to be stuck with a president that is only articulate on pages of Facebook!
I cant imagine we are  going to live with this wasteful president for another four years!

President Obasanjo could address any gathering and you will be confident that he would not gaffe but imagine a Jonathan addressing the UN.

Let us help our self by doing the right thing. Vote right this time!

Na wa o, so d remaining 60 million Nigerians are nairalanders or internet users abi? Forget Ribadu, d fight is btw BB and GEJ, and whoever has a strong grassroot base btw d two group wins, In my state for example, I hardly see Buhari's poster or hear his gingle on radio and d fact dat his running mate is from d south west still doesn't give him d edge anyway. Bakare can't win 10% of d SW 4 him. In as much as Elites wants a change in govt, d reality on ground won't let it.GEJ is d most popular being d sitting President, followed by Buhari among d Northerners.
I must say @ dis juncture dat Ribadu has weakened Buhari's chances 2 some extent. This might sound bitter, but d fact remains that GEj will carry d day narrowly anyway.
