As Nigerians await the official announcement of the results of the governorship election which held on Saturday in Edo State, Naija Politics Hub reports that incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently maintaining a clear lead after winning eight of the 12 Local Governments announced.

The computed results so far announced in each of the local governments by the presiding INEC electoral officials show Gov.Obaseki leading by nearly 50,000 votes.

The announced results include:
1. Esan South-East LGA:
Obaseki -- 10,565 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 9,237 votes.

2. Esan North-East LGA:
Obaseki -- 13,579 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 6,559 votes.

3. Esan Centra LGA:
Obaseki -- 10,963 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 6,719 votes.

4. Igueben LGA:
Obaseki -- 7,870 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 5,199 votes.

5. Uhunmwode South-South LGA:
Obaseki -- 10,022 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 5,972 votes.

6. Esan West LGA:
Obaseki -- 17,433 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 7,189 votes.

7.Egor LGA:
Obaseki -- 27,621 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 10,202 votes.

8. Ikpoba Okha LGA:
Obaseki -- 41,030 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 18,218 votes.

9. Owan East LGA --
Ize-Iyamu -- 19,295 votes
Obaseki -- 14,762 votes.

10. Etsako West LGA:
Ize-Iyamu -- 26,140 votes
Obaseki -- 17,959 votes.

11. Akoko Edo LGA:
Obaseki -- 20,101 votes
Ize-Iyamu -- 22,963 votes.

12. Etsako East LGA:
Ize-Iyamu -- 17,011 votes
Obaseki -- 10,668 votes.

From the above official results in the 12 Local Governments, Gov.Obaseki has so far scored 202,574 votes while Pastor Ize-Iyamu has scored 154,704.

More results as well as the official announcement of a winner are expected this Sunday.

I feel it's won't happen in Edo..Because results were announced at the poling units,and PDP have the record with them.

But where are other contestants? Their votes should be announced at least for trying.
