Gov Zulum Meets Families Of Policemen Killed In Boko Haram Attack, Visit The Injured In Hospital (Photos)

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has promised to look after the families of the policemen and members of civilian joint task force killed by Boko Haram fighters in an ambush on Friday in Borno.

Igbere TV reports that tens of security personnel were killed while some injured when the governor’s backup convoy was attacked along Baga-Monguno road.

A statement by the governor’s media aide Isa Gusau said Zulum on Monday met with the families of the fallen policemen at the police headquarters in Maiduguri.

Zulum said he was purposely there to sympathise and condole with them.

“It is very unfortunate that the incident happened. May Almighty God in his infinite mercy forgive and reward them for their sacrifices and may God grant you the strength to bear the fortitude of this huge loss that is for all of us,” he said.

“It is so sad, looking at what happened. It is quite unfortunate and I am pained by that incident.

“However, those men died as heroes, as patriots and as people that have brought honour to their families even though we never wished that it happened.

“Insha Allah, we shall do everything possible to support the families. The education of their children is very important in addition to the support for their means of livelihood.”

The governor was also at the state specialist hospital in Maiduguri to see the injured.

The hospital’s medical director Laraba Bello said eight injured persons were brought to the hospital on Sunday, made up of a policeman and seven CJTF members. He added that five had been treated and discharged while the remaining three were responding to treatment.

Lol...Zulum and northeast leaders quit your theatrics , we know 2023 is your turn, that's the reward of blowing yourself up for the past decade... The north can easily retain the presidency in 2023 and beyond just quit dropping your security detail..
Honestly I don't care who becomes president in 2023, neither am I a conspiracy nut or closet Tribalist...
Dont you think it's a bit suspicious for Zulum to escape assassination thrice, and not a single Boko Haram assassin captured and quizzed.. I'm have no hope in this politics game my compatriot I'm just a spectator! One love!

This man would have been better as a UN humanitarian head. He is really compassionate and shows empathy towards the weak, poor and those who are in pain and severe sufferings. I pray God keeps you safe cos u are an rare breed. Just be cautious and careful in the discharge of your duties cos the forces of evil are more than those of good. Bravo Prof.

At least give this Zulum the benefit of doubt.

He has shown commitment and empathy so far.

Which politician wan die? But this man has defiled the odds. He is interested in the security of the larger percentage of his people.

In as much I admire Babagana Zulum courageous acts, I still believes he needs to soft pedal on the red flag zone. He's over-stretching his security aides, because he needs to be safeguarded at any slighest incidents, thereby endangering the lives of himself and the security personnels. I wish our military men well in their struggles to put an end to this deadly extremists.

This Man is changing my thought about politicians. He chose the hardest job and he's risking his life to do it.

Many of them would have been governing the state from Abuja or Lagos.

you are just a normal hypocrite always claiming to be neutral when it comes to national politics.

If we need power back to the north we will agitate for power chest up!

Atiku is a northerner and a fulani man who will contest come 2023. If we are desperately in need of power we will make our position clear and support him!

You people are just too desperate for power... That why you now see every performing northern governor as a potential threat

First it was Elrufai....

It was Ganduje.

And now it is zulum... You people are already accusing him for a conspiracy to rule Nigeria.

I'm not surprise...

If we want to support a northerner.... We will support him chest up!

This una insecurity about 2023 is turning to something else

Zulum was attacked twice and the only thing that comes out from your brain is that he want to be president come 2023

"The labours of our heroes" past are being trapped by these blood sucking demons. The most painful part of this charade is the guts of Burutai, and his cohorts.

Zik, Awo, Bello, and other Nationalists will be turning in their graves now.

The only thing that will break Nigeria is Nigerians, not an outsider.

Nigerians fought to get their Independence from the British Govt, right now, we are fighting ourselves to stay United.

I think Nigerians should be blamed for our past and present mistake as a Country.

Wrong choices with bad Politicians are the problem of this Country.

Nice one

Have you noticed the mainstream news no longer use "Terrorists" to describe BokoHaram and Al Banarwi allahists?

They now call them "insurgents" and "criminal elements"

You don't know what's going on!

Year in year out Lagos, Anambra, Delta and Abia are always at top of the list of WAEC, NECO, JAMB and other National Exams in Nigeria.

But whenever you see beneficiaries of National Scholarships in oversea institutions, the majority of the students are Northerners. Lol.

What other proof do you need about partial distribution of National opportunities in Nigeria?

NDDC is not a National scholarship. It is only for oil producing states. State scholarship programs are not National.

I am talking about NNPC, ETF and other Scholarships from Federal Government agencies.

Then we should target those groups who "easily" give in to them. Also, could it be that the North are politically more shrewd and others should learn

Mumu are blessings are now in Jesus no more works of our tithes.
Notice it says ALL not some but ALL

Ephesians 1:3 (King James Version)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

The cure for poverty is NOT tithes but the gospel, if it were tithes Jesus would have said so

Matthew 11:5
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear,
the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Those tithe loving Jet flying GOs & Pastors telling you to tithe for blessings are simply agents of satan.
There belly is their god

Philippians 3:19
Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
