It's not on point. Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Chad, Niger and Egypt populations put together is lesser than Nigeria's.

Saudi minimum wage should be higher, it has only 50m people but export 10m barrels of crude daily. Nigeria's population is 200m but export less than 2m barrels of crude daily. Saudi main revenue is 400% higher than Nigeria's, while its population is 300% lesser than Nigeria's.

why are u talking oil, oil. Is oil the only thing on earth? What about countries that dont produce oil?
That u are on the govt's payroll shouldnt make u think from only side of the box.
After comparing Nigeria with Saudi Arabia, next buhari will compare Nigeria with western europe and USA.
Compare nigeria with countries like burundi, south sudan and somalia.
You can compare apples with oranges. You can't only compare oil dependent Nigeria with oil dependent Saudi Arabia.

The problem- We have too many money hungry politicians. To get elected is the Nigerian dream because it is a great opportunity to get rich.

The solution- strong anticorruption law with lengthy prision sentences e.g anyone found guilty regardless of tribe or if they are in power should get a minimum of 20 years in prison . Thehigher amount ,the higher the prison sentences. That is why i am advocating for a very strong judiciary branch of governmeny

Another solution is to form an auditing government agency that monitored spending by government officald, agency NNPC and so on. Failure to give account gives rooms for corruption. You all know about the NNPC that was not audited in years
Once corruption is in check, then we can start seeing improvement in 600 years .

Stop reacting emotionally to things. You should counter him point for point like a logical person should.

For once, let's criticize Buhari on issues where he is messing up( and there are myriad ways he has effed up). But on this issue, he is dead on point. Petrol subsidy has to end.

Aren't we tired of frittering away the future of our children on free money for corrupt oil marketers?

I am afraid it's on point.. had the 4 refineries been working at maximum capacity as promised by this administration, there would be no need exporting crude oil outside our shores to be refined and fuel still purchased from those refineries at international market rate with scarce hard currency for local consumption.. doesn't make economy sense at all..

I don't blame network providers for the data, some of us use to talk just because we want to talk. If the Nigeria government think they are doing what they are doing to the masses just because of over population, it simply means they have lost the track and are clueless. The faster they proffer the solutions to the problems facing Nigeria as a country the better for them. Because time will certainly come when the masses cannot withstand the oppression any more...
Re: Buhari's 60th Independence Day Speech, A Slap On Nigerians – PDP by Nfora: 6:53pm On Oct 01, 2020
Rubbish talk.

So if minimum wage in Nigeria is less than what is it in Saudi ,imported fuel should be cheaper in Nigeria, abi?

By this stupid thinking, then imported cars in Nigeria should be cheaper because our minimum wage is low.

In fact all imported goods should be cheaper in Nigeria!!

I just hope people will receive sense.

Only subsidy can lower the price of fuel.

The earlier all these senseless and reactionary people realised that the cost of fuel is not a function of minimum wage ,but that of cost of production/importation,the better for them.

It is indeed very senseless to buy imported fuel less than that of Saudi Arabia.

Oga, ur analysis is overly benighted of cognitive prowess dt a thoughtful person shld display!

For crying out loud, our large population shld be an exponential advantage over a country dt has lesser population, for goodness sake!

A large population especially when effectively engaged implies increased labour force, increased productivity, increased GDP, and so on!

If d population is not fully engaged, it's stil an evidence of leadership failure or ineptitude!

Or, how wld u even compare dt shit wit a country like China whose population is astronomically 1.2 billion pple & yet they hv a fantastically bouyant economy & a robust standard of living 4 their citizens?

So sad dt some of u wil jst disengage ur reasoning ability & begin 2 dimwittedly defend d indefensible!

Meanwhile, there's nothing PDP expounded in d writing abv dt's amiss or off-point!

Everytin is apt, telling & incontrovertible 2 any futuristic, right-thinking Nigerian!

Reflect on dt, biko!

In as much I am a proud PMB supporter however as an economist I cannot fault the economic argument put forward by PDP. It's on point.
What is new?, they were there for 16 years why did they not do what they are claiming? Only one brave resolution must be taken that pdp was scared to do, subsidy on petroleum products must go, regardless of political affiliation, pdp claim they were coerced in 2012 from doing the right thing, 8 years after, they want to coerce the present Government from doing the right thing, they exclaimed was right in 2012? enough of the hypocrisy Pdp, after Jonathan’s Government back tracked from the subsidy removal because of opposition timid voices, I knew the man was a useless nicompo without a mind of his own, that was enough reason to lose the election.
