........ As Those Behind Viral Video On The Run

....... Manhunt To Be Launched In Order For Them To Face Full Wrath Of The Law

Sequel to the 7 days ultimatum given to every student of Imo State University who has any substantive evidential proof of Prof. Njoku’s involvement in sex for marks to testify in public which elapsed on Saturday 26th September 2020, the state coordinator of Progressive Graduate of the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry of the university, Comrade Munonye Obinna and co-coordinator, Frank Ufomadu have stated that no single student has either come in public or secret to testify to the viral allegation of sex for marks leveled against him.

In a statement made available to IGBERE TV on Saturday, the group stated that Prof. Njoku has been vindicated as it is now very convincingly clear to all that Prof. Njoku Victor has never involved in sex for mark since he started work in Imo State University till date.

The group further stated that the viral media propaganda and fabricated allegation against Prof. Njoku Victor is a hand work of mischief markers and character assassins who were in desperate move to pull him down, tarnish his image and destroy the respect he (Prof. Njoku Victor) enjoyed over the years as one of the most transparent, honest and hard working Professors in Imo State University.

They further called on publishers of various media houses, hosts of online websites and social media to retract, refute and expunge all negative forms of stories, nude pictures and videos reportedly recorded and published against the good image of Prof. Njoku Victor, within the next 10 days or face the wrath of the law.

The statement reads in parts,

1. No single student has either come in public or secret to testify to the
viral allegation of sex for marks leveled against one of the most respected Senior Lecturers in Imo State University, Prof. Njoku Victor.

2. We the progressive graduates of chemistry and industrial chemistry of Imo State University wish to notify the entire Imo State University community that Prof. Njoku has been vindicated as it is now very convincingly clear to all that Prof. Njoku Victor has never involved in sex for mark since he started work in Imo State University till date.

3. It is now very convincingly proven that the viral media propaganda and fabricated allegation against Prof. Njoku Victor is a hand work of mischief markers and character assassins who were in desperate move to pull him down, tarnish his image and destroy the respect he (Prof. Njoku Victor) enjoyed over the years as one of the most transparent, honest and hard working Professors in Imo State University.

4. We hereby call on all Nigerians, imolites, security, media and the entire Imo State University staffs and students to rise up to the challenge of protecting innocent citizens who may have been subjected to public ridicule by character Assassins whose stock in trade is to ridicule high profile citizens and perceived competitors or political enemies.

5. The false allegation and vindication of Prof. Njoku whose privacy was secretly invaded by over zealous hired criminals and their cohorts, is a clear indication that character assassins are currently on parade in Imo State.

6. The right to privacy is one of the fundamental human rights entrenched in the Nigerian constitution section 37 of the 1999 constitution provides that:

“The privacy of citizens, their homes, correspondence, telephone conversations and telegraphic communications is hereby guaranteed and protected’’. It deems privacy in this respect a fundamental right which is enforceable in a court of law when breached.

‘’Legal definition of right of privacy: The rights of a person to be free from intrusion into or publicity concerning matters of a personal
nature’’.

7. Invasion of privacy is one of the most damaging types of sexual harassment because it damages a person’s reputation and personal
relationships, this can include anything from leaking Important andprivate information in order to coerce you into a sexual relationship
or secretly recording you in places that are clearly private.

Taking your picture without your knowledge and releasing it on the internet via social media. Blackmailing you to conduct sexual acts or engage in a sexual relationship.

8. Defamation and false light invasion of privacy have a good deal in common. Each requires some falsity published to a third party.

A fundamental difference is that defamation is generally a false statement made about a person, and false light is a misattribution of
a person’s actions or beliefs.

We hereby call on publishers of various media houses, hosts of online websites and social media to retract, refute and expunge all negative forms of stories, nude pictures and videos reportedly recorded and published against the good image of Prof. Njoku Victor, within the next 10 days or face the wrath of the law. It is disheartening that most media outfits published the defamatory false story of sex for marks without properinvestigation and balanced journalism. The envisaged unprofessional conduct of most media practitioners is becoming a ‘’hydra headed monster’’ which is capable of destroying the integrity of good citizens It is obvious that the hired character assassins who invaded the secret privacy of Prof. Njoku Victor are already on the run. We shall officially petition the inspector General of police to fish out all those behind the
dastard act and ensure they are prosecuted for breach of fundamental human right, sexual harassment and criminal invasion under section 37 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Was he the one in the viral video or not? Depending on students testimonies may not be sufficient enough since witness protection isn't guaranteed in our society. Whatever it is, there is a reputation you will carry that it will be difficult to drag your name down the mud in certain issues. Good luck to all parties whose major issue right now is about sex and grades.

If you'd ever passed through Nigerian University system you'd know that alot of arm-twisting was done to silence the students involved.

Was it the amorous Prof in video or not?

Let's hear from both sides. They have the video? Nothing stops them from taking it to the police for investigation, as requested. Besides, the court is the better place to make this claim, not Nairaland.

"The group leaders had claimed that the private residence of the lecturer, Njoku was invaded by character assassins and a naked video of Njoku was taken and sent out to the social media."

You're right. But unfair at the same time. While it's possible the Prof might have used his influence and connections to cover up, like you said, it's also possible he's being accused wrongly.

We have seen cases of false sexual harassment and false rape accusation claims trashed in the end as false.

Please let's leave judgment for the judges who are trained to handle such, as any side we take extrajudicially may end up doing a lot of damage.

NOTE: I am not saying or implying that he's innocent. I do have my reservations. What I am saying is that with this report, it's better we wait for judicial pronouncement before we hang him. We shouldn't assume the position of the judges and crucify him before the case gets to the court..

May God bless us all and grant us wisdom.

How do character assasinators came into his apartment to his room and set camera and later came back to pick the camera?
Let him tell the police all the outsiders who came to his bedroom. The lady who took that pics has done her best. we don't don't support false accusation but we also have brain to analyze

LOL, you can't accuse someone and disappear, my brother. How do you want the law to act? To convict the suspect without fair hearing? Make we fear God abeg.. They should take the case to the police, not just abandon it on social media. Let's give room to fair hearing.

Lol, that's Njoku's office, which kind yeye person entered6hid house to videotape him. Let them be trying to cover up.

I don't blame the students for not testifying. IMSU no be Unilag. You will hate your life in that school if you try it.

You still do not get my point. You don't take action based on the accusation of one party. What actually went wrong? Is the prof guilty? Or is it a case of setup? What actually happened cannot be decided from the video that circulated otherwise the suspect would have been rounded up long time ago.

My brother, things are happening in this world. Desperate people can go to any length to destroy others.

We are still on Earth, in case you have forgotten. cheesy

It is now so obvious all these Nigerian higher institutions are systematically in support of sexual exploitations by their staffs.

Which student in his/her right senses will come forward and testify against the man?

This is ridiculous and absurdity in high places. They should go ahead and cover up the man, everything will do here on earth will still be questioned after we leave.

Good.
This is the reward for cowardice.
If you are going to fight injustice, don't chicken out.
Now, they could even be charged with blackmail.

Their only game now is to go on offensive and actually testify against the predatory professor.
