Witchcraft Panel Visits Victims’ Graves In Akwa-ibom by ZiggyHimself(m): 12:34pm On Mar 07, 2011
A conclusion has been reached in the fact-finding trip in Eket communities by the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Witchcraft Accusations and Child Abuses raised by Akwa Ibom government.

The panel which consists of six members, visited Afaha Ekpenedi community in Esit Eket where people accused of witchcraft were allegedly buried alive in 2008.

They met with a Survivor, at the Child Rights and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) Centre for abandoned children. The survivor (name witheld) is a Junior Secondary Student.

Members of the Commission were shown relics of the houses of the slain victims which were set ablaze by their assailants who claimed that they were cleansing
the community of people suspected to be witches.

Some witnesses, who testified before the Panel, had said that people suspected to be witches in the community were killed and buried in shallow graves.

A surviving victim showed the commission two shallow graves where a victim and his son were allegedly buried.
The traditional ruler of the area was not available when the commission visited his residence but Chairman of the commission ordered that he should be summoned
to come and testify before it.

The panel was sworn in by Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, on November 22, 2010 and commenced pub.

hhmmmn it seems illiterates in Akwa-Ibom are running short of Adult Witches to the point that they have to turn their focus to little children to blame for their problems. angry but then it is not new. very few will accept they are responsible for their problems or the solutions to those problems. is life nto a biatch!

Panel?? Why aren't the murderers in jail yet or at least on bail awaiting trial?
Its 2011 folks, not the middle ages or 1645. As if its not bad enough that adults still believe in witchcraft, they had to go around murdering children too?
Why should anybody be surprised though? If a society/culture bases it world view on bronze age jewish mythology and ancient african superstitions, we can't really expect the people to act within reason.

It seems slavery and colonization has permanently destroyed the black man's cognitive abilities. Even with the proliferation of knowledge and information on the internet, we still have people who can't think like civilized and rational people. A whole bunch of them post on this website too.  All they seem to find is how to rationalize their ignorance by debating tithing, how to pray to some fairytale jew and what some other jewish guy wrote to some galatians or corinthians.
You people ever stopped to think if some Hasidic Jews or Arabs are in the middle east talking about African mythology, " prophets" or black patriachs? My blood boils just thinking about the ret-rded  song they made us sing in children's Sunday school. A song about "father" abraham!!!!
Black society/ culture hasbeing in decline since the end of the pyramids' construction. If I had a penny for every black society thats making any tangible advancement right now, I'll have zilch.

A mentally deranged person was found the other day and they came spouting all kinds of asinine bs about how the woman is really a witch that crash landed on her way back from the moon!!!!! The freaking MOON!!!

Hell, even the government is "investigating" the allegations with a civilian panel instead of at least arresting the so called man/woman of god who started the bs; or at least set up a grand jury. But the people have to be educated first to even understand what a grand jury is or participate effectively. She can at least be charged with conspiracy!!!!!!!!! Kids were killed goddamnit!!!
Talk about "third world" country, more like fourth.
