The young Hausa soldiers rallied themselves and carried out a counter coup that killed Aguiyi Ironsi and saw the North consolodate power till date with the "never allow Igbo rule again" mantra they pass down to their offspring. Left for Yorubas, the coup plotter would have gone away with their attrocities claiming some Yoruba soldiers were part of them. Same way M.K.O Abiola and Kudirat murderers got away.
