As the Nigerian Army conducted an illegal invasion of Obigbo, shooting indiscriminately and killing people, the King of Obigbo, HRM Eze Mike Nwaji, the Eze Oha of Oyigbo, took to his Facebook page to say: Please the people of Oyigbo come back home, lets not play into the hands of those miscreants who want to destroy the enviable peaceful coexistence we enjoy in Oyigbo land. This is our land, our Kingdom and our heritage. We must continue to preach peace and protect our heritage Long live the king of Oyigbo Long[ live the people of Oyigbo Oyigbo nmamanu!

Please the people of Oyigbo come back home, lets not play into the hands of those miscreants who want to destroy the enviable peaceful coexistence we enjoy in Oyigbo land. This is our land, our Kingdom and our heritage. We must continue to preach peace and protect our heritageBrief, concise, direct and unambiguous. Other states, towns, communities and villages should key into this message and dislodge any ipob miscreant(s) hiding around or report them to the nearest security agencies. Peaceful coexistence is impossible with those jobless ipob miscreants around. They are criminals searching for any form of unrest so they can start stealing and robbing. There's nothing worse than losing your whole identity all because of money. my MIL is in her 70s and her family is from there. they are all Igbos generally called Asa ppl .until state creation divided them. Till today her native family home is there while her husband's village was joined to Abia State. The foolish king even greeted 'nmanmanu', the same thing we greet during meetings. The only thing that could have at least given a credibility to their acclaimed non igbo heritage is the name of the king which should be passed down from generation to generation. Igbos took your kingship title too. I don't and will never support Ipob but it is unnatural that acclaimed sojourners made away with everything that tells your history and identity .even King Jaja of Opobos original name and birthplace was known in IMO State. Can the Ogoni ppl interpret this Ezes title and the meaning of nmamanu? It is for ppl who are dragging them to join Igbos. I couldn't care less. the original ppl know themselves. I really don't understand what the fuss about this oyibo is about. If the Igbos are sure the people and place belong to them, they should come forward with historical and documentary evidence to buttress that fact. If not, then they should let things be and be respectful to their hosts 1 Like |
