I would have asked many questions. But a sincere answer to my questions will end up showing that this is one of the most insensitive, inhuman, derogatory and unfathomable excuses for incompetence. I thought Boko Haram had been decimated. I thought borders were closed so that farming is encouraged. Oh, the farmers need to obtain their Pass from the Nigerian Army for them to do legitimate farming at their farms! So where were the men of the Nigerian army when over 40 farmers passed through to a place with security issues. Does it not mean that Boko Haram members could even pass with ease (of course they passed). Does this event not show that security is worse off?
People in government should please respect the living by working to secure their lives, and respect the death by not blaming them for being killed.

Useless govt everywhere

Nigerian farmers are now required to get clearance to farm on their own lands so as not to get killed by boko haram terrorists. That this statement is coming from the presidency is unbelievable! This is a clear admission that this government no longer has the ability to carry out its primary responsibility which is the protection of lives and properties.

Without being sentimental, there is some sense in what shehu said.

But Nigeria is not an organized society where things work in an orderly fashion.


Did the farmers know they had to or who to approach to get clearance sef

Nigerian government has been battling boko haram for over a decade now. Yet it is questionable how the terrorists are more stronger and resilient against the military. Our military should adopt the use of night vision helicopters and drones to aid military intelligence. Also curfew should be imposed in some high risk zones and violators will be presumed to be terrorist and risk their lives.
