Mrs. Deb'rah Eunice Gordon Osagiede is dead. She is a Nigerian pastor and the General Overseer of Spirit and Life Bible Church. She is also the President of Godhead Prayer Ministry. A
retired Police Commissioner.

She was pronounced dead Monday 7th December 2020 by the church top ministers. She has been ill for few months but she still preachers and was looking strong. Type of illness that lead to her death is still unknown but until her death she was vibrant and always out spoken saying the truth and preaching the gospel of HE who called her.

Until her death she was the founder of these ministries

Someone up there said this may be the beginning of the end of the church and I think I agree (to an extent).

The SLBC first shot off with Jesus Women Prayer Band, an interdenominational prayer ministry for women. This was founded by this woman and was soon making waves in Edo state (especially). Later, the Godhead Fellowship (for men) was founded by her husband, and quickly followed up with a merger which birthed the SLBC denomination. Those initial fellowships however continued interdenominationally.

It wasn't difficult for anyone to know which of the duo was the crowd puller as the Jesus Women attracted interest from far outside the state with many within Benin-city hardly aware of the Godhead fellowship.

Thus, while the husband was the ascribed head, many regarded the woman as the spiritual mainstay of the ministry. It therefore had very minimal effect (if at all) when the husband died and she fully (officially) took over the running of the church.

Now, the major outlet outside Edo state is the Abuja Church which, I understand, trumps the headquarters on all fronts structurally, and this was specifically built for her first son who has been elevated to the position of Bishop and even bears same name as his dad. Unlike his parents (mum especially), he and his white wife are hardly known outside the denomination...

The problem with most of our pentecostal churches in Nigeria has been the tendency by the founders to run them like family enterprises, or for the founders' families to wrest control once they are gone, disregarding previous hierarchical structures. CGM, amongst others, suffered same fate with pull-out pastors more widely known today than the General Overseer. Let's see how the SLBC goes after Eunice Osagiede's exit.

This year came with great things.
The year was really good.

Death is a mystery

The husband died late 90s or early 2000s.Forgotten.
She survived 20 years after her husband's death,she tried.
They were example of real life partners gracing the the TV screen under Edo Broadcasting Station(EBS) I think.
I grew up watching them doing their televangelist work.
Their church,Spirit and Life bible church had many branches in Benin.
Their church,Church of God mission founded by Benson Idahosa,Christ chosen church,New covenant gospel church and Christ Apostolic church made christianity strong in many Benin homes before Believer's love world,Omega fire and the rest.

wow, growing up in benin in the 90s this woman was a household name especially when she started Jesus women prayer band. She has truly made her contributions to the body of Christ.

I pray God preserve all she has left behind.

Kwn you as a child and grew up to see how much work and sacrifice you have put into bringing God's work to light...

I have never seen a woman work for God like she do , Founder JESUS WOMEN FELLOWSHIP, this fellowship helped pulled women unto Godliness & Righteousness.. Jesus women fellowship still a name that rings the bell in Benin city & Nigeria with the badges on the chest of the women & the joy on their face for belonging to Christ ... She did leave a legacy behind for all to remember
