Actually, not really true. These are the factors that contribute to it. Advancement in mobile technology such a faster data ntw, higher quality phones, bigger data files and more video content.

Take for instance, 1g of data cannot be used in Facebook for 24hrs in a stretch. Why? Higher picture qualities taken by mobile phones and uploaded on Facebook, more videos on Facebook (some of high quality), Facebook apk size (and its attendant consumption of memory due to caching etc.)

Then YouTube videos (many don't know how to reduce the quality of YouTube video while watching), Instagram (full of pictures and videos, all high quality meaning more data consumption)

These are the reasons 1g of data cannot so much today compared to 5 years ago.
You are right

FG, crashes data price with straight implementation, not mere talk!

Telecommunication companies in Nigeria, especially MTN, are very wicked, stupid and corrupt.

Not Care for data, but care for high cost of foods in the market. Crashes of data can't put smile in the mouth of nigerians.

It's a bleeped country. I bet you if it was an increment. They'd all adjust their bundle prices immediately.
So FG is projecting to reduce price by 75naira and the OP used the word "crashed". The thunder, hmmm

Re: FG Crashes Data Price By 50 Percent by alfredilly: 10:34am On Dec 10, 2020
crashing prices while they still charge the old rate. Before this 50 percent announcement, it was claimed that Federal government had reduced data price to 300 naira. Now it's 50 percent. 50 percent of 300 or the old rate. Beside do the network provider have a unified tarrif plan. glo will be charging 1000 per 1 gig while MTN will claim their are plan that offer you 500 for 1 gig.
