Home Secretary David bernhardt actively tested Covid-19 on Wednesday before planning to meet with President Donald Trump. The 51-year-old bernhardt did not attend the cabinet meeting after achieving positive results, which was received during a routine inspection at the White House. The White House did not include bernhardt in the list of cabinet members attending the noon party. Nicholas Goodwin, a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior, said in an e-mail: "He has no symptoms at present and will continue to work on behalf of the American people during isolation." The positive test results of bernhardt were first reported by Washington Post. Prior to this, some senior political appointees and staff members of this institution have recently encountered a series of incidents, and held a ceremony to unveil the portrait of former Home Secretary Ryan Sink last week. The agency is responsible for supervising about one-fifth of grazing, recreation, energy development and other activities in the United States, and has about 70,000 employees nationwide. During the pandemic, most of the Department of Interior employees in the Washington area continued to work from home. Bernhardt, a former energy and natural resources lobbyist, was confirmed as a secretary in April 2019 after leading the Ministry of the Interior for four months. On August 1, 2017, he was sworn in as the second-level official within the Interior.
