Many Nigerians do not know how lucky they are to be in this country. Some people even think Nigeria is the worst country on earth. There are so many opportunities that Nigerians are entitled to in this country. As a Nigerian, I will mention 12 things that you can do freely in your country but if you try any of them in some foreign countries, you will be in problem. It could even be as bad as getting imprisoned.

Nigerians always complain about the bad roads, poor education system, bad education, hikes in food price amongst other things. There is a saying that you do not know the actual value of what you have until you lose them. There are some blessings attached to being a Nigerian. There are some certain things that you do everyday which are overlooked in this country but you would actually have to pay huge fine or even sentenced to prison in other countries. See some of them below

1. It is considered a crime to spit anywhere in the public in Dubai: If you are caught spitting anywhere in the public in Dubai, it can cost you as much as DH1,000 which is around N100K plus in Nigeria.

2. It is illegal to climb a tree in some places in Canada: Many people always dream of traveling to Canada but only few people know how Canada is. If you are found climbing tress in some parts of Canada, you will pay a fine of over $300 which is almost N90K in Naira

3. In some parts of Trinidad and Tobago, you must not hang your laundry in the public: This is considered a great crime. In Nigeria, you are free to hang you cloth anywhere you like them without getting punished but don’t try that in Trinidad and Tobago.

4. In North Korea, it is illegal to listen to good music: You cannot just listen to any music that does not glorify the country or their president. Here in Nigeria, you listen to Cash App, Idioremi, FEM among others but you can’t try it in North Korea

5. You cannot drive any car that is painted black in Turkmenistan: Can you even believe that there is a place where you cannot just drive a car painted in black? In Nigeria, 50% of our cars are black but you cannot try this in Turkmenistan

6. In North Korea, both Men and Women are restricted to certain haircuts that are on the official list. You cannot go there and barb any haircut that you like. It must be on the official list and the list allows just 18 for men and 15 for Women

7. It is considered a crime in North Korea for you to own a Car. You can only use a car in North Korea if you are a government official otherwise, go and find a bicycle.

8. In Minnesota, USA, it is considered a great offence to drive a car with dirty tires. They are considered a public nuisance if they deposit mud, dirt, or any other substances on a street or highway

9. It is also a crime in North Korea to watch Cable Television. You cannot watch Zee World, Africa Magic, Nickledon, Sound City and other channels like you enjoy them in Nigeria. There are only 4 official channels in North Korea

10. It is illegal to go to Church or Mosque in North Korea. It is officially an atheist country thus, no religious practice is allowed. If you are caught preaching in public, you may get a death sentence.

11. You are not entitled to an opinion in North Korea. Sometimes, I smile when I see people who start argument at newspaper stands. Voicing out their opinions; talking bad about politicians. If you try this in North Korea, you will be in problem.
