23 dead, 22 injured as truck somersaults in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the death of 23 persons after a truck fully loaded with dozens of cows and 45 persons, skidded off the road and somersaulted into a bush.

The accident occurred at about 0500 hours along Bokani -Makera road in Mokwa Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Adamu Usman, who confirmed the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna, on Monday, said the truck, with registration Number BBJ 666 XA, was coming from Dadin Kowa, in Kebbi state, enroute to Lagos.


Usman explained that the corpses of the deceased, and the other 22 who sustained various degrees of injuries, had been conveyed to the Mokwa General Hospital for postmortem and treatment respectively.

He, however attributed the accident to loss of control by the driver, lamented the failure of drivers to obey traffic rules and regulations

In my area last Saturday, a son and mother died in a ghastly motorcycle accident with a bus driver.


They died instantly.


It was painful. Up till now, the prints of their blood flow is still on the road.

I literally cried.

Life

Abroad, they build care homes were frail old people or slightly old and incapacitated people are taken by their ever busy families to live until the curtains of life is drawn on them..people are 70% certain if they have no terminal diseases or illnesses, they will live till they will naturally wish to die and rest in peace because they are old already and redundant. The society avails you an environment to flourish as human specie until you have no strength again

In Nigeria and most African countries you literally escape dead everyday hoping you have the instinct to escape another dead the next day...apart from cultural reasons, no need for care homes here since most people might not reach the old age they will be frail because of very hostile environment
