There are lots of notable women in the Bible. However, only one of these women was more blessed than others. Everyone will relate with the stories of great women like Deborah, Elizabeth, Esther, Ruth, Rahab, Mary — the mother of Jesus etc.

All of the aforementioned women were blessed by God, but the most blessed one was Jael, Heber’s wife.

Holy Spirit, through angel Gabriel, said Mary was blessed among women while Jael, through the ministration of prophetess Deborah, was blessed ‘above’ women.

After all, Mary received her blessing as a result of the favor of God, but Jael received her blessing as a result of her work. No wonder she was blessed ‘above’ and not ‘among’ women as rightly stated for the mother of Jesus.

Some school of thought stated Mary was the most blessed woman in the Bible. That notion is not biblical as the book of Judges 5:24 confirmed the most blessed woman to be Jael.

Why Jael?

What a man, captain of Israel, could not do with 10,000 armies, a woman (with hammer and nail) did it!

Who would have thought a woman could kill captain of the host of Canaan, Sisera, who had 900 chariots of iron?

Almost all, if not all, captains who nearly died in the hands of women begged to be killed by men closed by so that it would not be recorded that women killed them.

It was a shame and the highest disgrace ever for a woman to kill a captain if a host of any army. Jael broke the record by being the first woman to kill not just a captain but the captain of the host of chariots of Iron with a mere nail.

Who are we to argue with the Holy Spirit when he stated through the mouth of a prophetess, who led the fight against Jabin’s army, that Jael was blessed above women. In other words, she was the most blessed women in the Bible.

The Holy Spirit used the phrase for only Jael. Even Mary, the mother of Jesus, did not get such accolade. She was simply blessed among women and not above women.

For 20 years, King Jabin through Sisera and his 900 chariots of iron oppressed the children of Israel.

God intervened when they cried to him by using a prophetess, Deborah, who summoned Barack to lead a fight against the 900 chariots of Iron with his 10,000 armies (of the children of Naphtali and Zebulun).

For fear of failure, Barak insisted Deborah followed them to the battle. Consequently, Deborah prophesied a woman would take the glory due to his cowardness.

After the children of Israel had killed the chariots of iron, Sisera ran to the tent of Jael. Rather than being scared, she gladly accommodated Sisera and offered him milk instead of the water he requested.

She, even, went the extra mile of covering him with a mantle. When she observed he was fast asleep, she hammered a nail into his head. Thereby, she broke the greatest record ever of being the first woman to kill a commander in the world.

If you know Sisera well enough, you won't deny how dreadful he could be in the absence of his chariots of iron.

She was brave and smart. I believe she must have done the act with all fear in her heart.

Sir, salvation is the first step in Christianity and not the last. Baby drink milk, but milk of the word of God is not for matured Christians. Read all the letters of Paul so that you can know there are ages and stages of growth in Christianity.

You talk like a Muslim. The Fellow Who SWALLOWED GOD (HOLY SPIRIT) AND BROUGHT CHRIST (HOLY SPIRIT) OUT IS GOD AND GOD'S ANOINTED CONVEYOR BELT

THE EXPRESSION AMONG WOMEN WAS TO SEPARATE DAUGHTER'S OF MARY FROM THE DAUGHTER'S OF EVE.. JAEL WAS MORE THAN ALL DAUGHTERS OF EVE BUT NO MATCH WITH ANY DAUGHTER OF MARY, DAUGHTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SALVATION, WHOM SHE DIDN'T LIVE TO SEE.

JAEL WAS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. IN THE SECOND COMING OF THE SON OF GOD, MARY IS COMING BACK TO SURPASS HER PRESENT RECORD WHEN SHE WILL SIT WITH THE SALVATION GROUP AS GOD THE MOTHER WITH GOD THE FATHER AND GOD THE SON.

You said the person who brought out God is God... Where is that written in the Bible?

Very nice.
But in all the ages and stages of growth in christianity, where do you place "most blessed woman in the bible"?
Of what relevance is the topic to my spirituality?

No offence @op.
I think this year, we should shun idle talk. It a big distraction.
If there is a problem, look for the cause and deal with it. Looking at Nigeria generally, too much talk is holding us back in lots of ways.

It will help you to teach others that the worshipping Mary is not biblical. She was just a woman who received favor from God.

Lol, your opinion though. To me and all faithful catholics, Mary is and will continue to be the greatest woman created by God. Jael only killed siserra but Mary breastfed your God, lol. Your God recognise her as His mother, the Holy spirit through Elizabeth did same. Be mindful that what ever you think or feel about Mary does not affect who she is and the devotion to her will continue till the end of time for all generations shall call her blessed. At least no where is it written in the scripture that all generation will call Jael blessed but luke said so about mary.
And for the record, please let the catholics be.
We are entitled to our own belief at least our belief is not harming any of your family.
Thank you
