The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 Edo 2020 Governorship election, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu, is appealing a High Court ruling nullifying his candidacy alongside the running mate, Gani Audu.

Igbere TV had reported how the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City on Wednesday, disqualified the candidates of the APC over alleged infractions contained in the documents submitted to INEC by the Deputy Governorship candidate, Gani Audu.

In a statement forwarded to Igbere TV by the Edo APC Campaign Organization in reaction to the judgement, Ize-Iyamu described the ruling as “unfortunate and utterly wrong”.

“I have already instructed my Counsel to appeal against the judgment, as I am convinced that the Court of Appeal will dispassionately consider the facts presented before the Court and arrive at a just decision in accordance with the law,” he said.

He also urged his supporters in the state and beyond to remain calm and law-abiding, while expressing confidence that justice will prevail in the matter.

The tightly-contested Edo guber race remains subject of litigation over contended discrepancies in the academic credentials of the declared winner, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

This man is more busy with staying afloat in politics even if it means constantly being in the relegation zone than doing the work of a Pastor he calls himself. His level of failure in politics is scary.

His money came from politics, so spending it still on politics to me is called restitution.

Obaseki is a master planner, I guess he has learnt a lot from Tinubu. The best form of defense is to attack.

The two candidates of both political parties are both failures,
Nothing to bring to the table.

We can't wait to see the end of this interesting saga.

We will remain neutral in this case just as we remained neutral throughout the Edo Governorship election process, cos the 2 candidates are nothing to write home about.
They are both #%!*#@!
We even prefer the current Deputy Governor to become the Main Governor of Edo state,
E be like say dat one get sense and credibility to large extent.

All the best to Edolites on this serious matter.
The choice of Edolites will prevail at the end of it all.
Outsiders, please type something sensible or keep off!

God bless Edo State.
God bless Nigeria
.

kovic7:

I agree with you on this. both candidates are not fit. OBASEKI is on riding on public sympathy Nothing else. Bad roads everywhere in Edo, all entry into Edo state has bad roads and even within Benin City, bad roads galore. Zero security, etc.
Thumbs up.

Antoeni:
Gov Godwin Obaseki went for NYSC before graduation.
Naija for show! grin cheesy wink
