Compromise Is Submission To Evil. by yommyuk: 5:40am On Apr 03, 2011
Jeremiah 2:13
"For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns, That can hold no water."

When people forsake the true and living God, such people can be compared to a nation like Nigeria which has a vast fertile land in which it can plant food to feed the whole of Africa, but for reasons best know to the powers that be, we choose to import food from a foreign land. How foolish can that be!

During Jeremiah's time, the nation of Judah had forsaken the true and living God and as a result, they were literally being destroyed by moral corruption, political chaos, spiritual apostasy, and national calamity. God instructed the prophet Jeremiah to confront the deplorable situation of his day with courage and boldness. He was to proclaim a message that would be characterized by such words as, "root out, pull down, destroy and rebuild." As a result of forsaking God, our nation can also be described as a nation which is suffering from rampant moral corruption, political chaos, spiritual apostasy, and national calamity. As in the time of Jeremiah, there is a need for men and women in places of spiritual and political leadership with enough courage to proclaim authoritatively a message of true reformation which would include the need to "root out, pull down, destroy and rebuild." Backbone, courage, and holy boldness are scarce commodities in our day.

In the olden days, when the might of Rome besieged the city, they not only levelled the city, they dragged off the ruins, plowed the ground and sowed it with salt. After that the Vultures will have their fill of human flesh, all that remained were the skeletons of those who had been defeated. Everything will become as peaceful as it could be. But who wants that kind of peace?

Today we face a much more dangerous threat. The threat of utter ruin that comes from a lack of spiritual and political leadership that will dare to take an uncompromising stand against the moral corruption, political chaos, spiritual apostasy, and national calamity which increasingly plagues our nation. We have become a society that values comfort to the degree that there is a pervasive unwillingness to take any drastic action in order to deal with the prevalent moral corruption, political chaos, spiritual apostasy and national calamity. Compromise is definitely the "in word" in every segment of our society. There is just one problem. It is impossible to compromise and not be weakened. Fear and cowardice are the inevitable consequence of compromise. There are men in positions of political and religious leadership who out of the fear of man or the fear of loosing their own personal wealth and comfort are compromising what they know in their own conscience to be right. Often their cowardice is disguised under the cloak of "maintaining peace." Peace at the expense of compromising that which is right is cowardly submission to evil and ultimately results in bondage of the worse kind. There is a so-called peace that comes as a result of being conquered so that one is no longer able or willing to stand up and fight.

CONCLUSION
2 Tim 3:1
But Mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

We have been forewarned. The time has already come. Let us stand up and be counted. Speak out against the evils of our society. Wherever you go, make sure people know that you are not one of those Christians that lay low. Let us match on with the Gospel of Christ by preaching the uncompromising Word of God in unity. The earth is the lords and the fullness thereof. Let the spirit of the Lord take over.

God bless. wink
