It is just sad that the name of RCCG is being brought into this, because those of us who are members of the church knows that the church preches absolute purity.

No UK court judgment against Akingbola

Former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank, Dr. Erastus Akingbola, has denied report that a court in the United Kingdom, UK, has ordered his forfeiture of asset worth £68 million. Reacting to the report Tuesday in a statement signed by Charles Nwajagu, Media Counsel to Dr Akingbola, he said:

“All allegations regarding payments are misleading. No court has asked Akingbola to forfeit any asset or pay £68 million (Sixty eight million pounds) or any other sum to Intercontinental Bank Plc. The case indeed has been slated for trial next year.”

The statement said in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a misleading campaign on the case in United Kingdom (UK) involving Intercontinental Bank Plc and its former Chief Executive Officer, Dr Erastus Akingbola, in which the bank was asking for a Summary Judgment on financial misappropriation. Intercontinental Bank had on December 23, 2009 instituted the case against Dr Akingbola. On April 4, 2011, a ruling was given by the presiding judge. We state hereunder the facts as follows:

“The Bank’s application for Summary Judgment was declined. A summary judgment would have meant no trial and no cross examination too. But the judge refused on the ground that it is only fair for a defendant (in this case Dr Akingbola) to cross examine the plaintiff’s witnesses. Consequently, the judge ordered trial to start sometime next year.

All allegations regarding payments are misleading. No court has asked Akingbola to forfeit any asset or pay £68 million (Sixty eight million pounds) or any other sum to Intercontinental Bank PLC. The case indeed has been slated for trial next year.”

“In his ruling the judge affirmed that none of Intercontinental Bank’s money was used by Akingbola to purchase any property in London. These allegations are actually reminiscent of the spurious N 346 billion phantom money allegedly misappropriated at Intercontinental Bank PLC by Dr Akingbola.
“Contrary to the erroneous March 24, 2011 being spread around, the judge gave his ruling only on Monday, April 4, 2011 thereby casting doubt on the motive and credibility of the story being circulated.

Re: Uk High Court Orders, Erastus Akingbola, To Surrender £68 Million To Ib Plc by omoola007(m): 12:02pm On Apr 06, 2011
I only have one Question (well many but one main question) grin

How did he "EARN"  £68 Million (N17bILLION Naira) as the CEO of Intercontinental Bank? What was his Salary, what was the Salary of all the workers combined? How much did the Bank Make? how can he justify this income? can he support it?

Do you know what you can do with N17 Billion Naira. How many Lives you can transform how much poverty you can eradicate.

- Finance 850 Businesses with N20million each
- You can build 3,400 N5million  houses.
- Employ 78,703 people for a year paying minimum wage of N18,000 per month

That is what one "man of God" has in his bank account and he keeps praying to God for solution. What more can God do than give you the seed to feed your people.

I am sure this man led prayers where people could not afford to eat but they screamed amen when he prayed for God to provide for his people.

lets hold all our leaders accountable -  Presidents, Governors, Pastors, Deacons, Iya Ajo, MD, manager, Teacher, Principal.

Until we do we will be robbed in broad day light. It Reminds me of a Fela Lyric "authority stealing with a pen, common man dey steal bread for market dem go beat am shout ole ole, you be thief, you be robber".

There was a time not too long ago where stealing was a crime in Nigeria and punishable by firing squad remember "LaWrence Anini" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Anini  , how much did he steal compared to all these so called leaders and big men? yet he is rotting in hell  Nowadays in Nigeria its normal runs to steal from work, neighbors, friends, everywhere. Its a shame>>>>

Nigeria is in our collective hands if you go to church with a known or fully suspected thief and you don't raise alarm to sannctify the lord's house, then you are a thief too remember Jesus scattered a synagogue to stop people from turning God's house into a market place, ask yourself WWJD if he is praying next to a unrepentant thief,

Dont be bothered by what all these thieves in agbada or suit, just read Psalm 37:1-25 & see what eventually happens to them. What u sow, u must reap, thats how this earth operates (Genesis 8:22 & 2 Cor.9:6).

No uk court judgment against Erastus Akingbola

Former Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Bank Dr. Erastus Akingbola yesterday said no court in the United Kingdom gave a judgment against him.

Akingbola, in a statement by an aide, Charles Nwajagu said: Our attention has been drawn to a misleading campaign on the case in United Kingdom (UK) involving Intercontinental Bank PLC and its former Chief Executive Officer, Dr Erastus Akingbola in which the bank was asking for a Summary Judgment on financial misappropriation.

“Intercontinental Bank had on December 23, 2009 instituted the case against Dr Akingbola. On April 4, 2011, a ruling was given by the presiding judge. We state hereunder the facts as follows:

•The bank’s application for summaryjudgement was declined. A summary judgement would have meant no trial and no cross examination too. But the judge refused on the ground that it is only fair for a defendant (in this case Dr Akingbola) to cross examine the plaintiff’s witnesses. Consequently the judge ordered trial to start sometime next year.”

•Misleading payments: All allegations regarding payments are misleading. No court has asked Akingbola to forfeit any asset or pay £68million or any other sum to Intercontinental Bank PLC. The case indeed has been slated for trial next year.

•Purchases of London property: In his ruling, the judge affirmed that none of Intercontinental Bank’s money was used by Akingbola to purchase any property in London.

These allegations are actually reminiscent of the spurious N346billion phantom money allegedly misappropriated at Intercontinental Bank Plc by Dr Akingbola.

•Date of ruling: contrary to the erroneous March 24, 2011 being spread around, the judge gave his ruling only on Monday, April 4, 2011 thereby casting doubt on the motive and credibility of the story being circulated.
Re: Uk High Court Orders, Erastus Akingbola, To Surrender £68 Million To Ib Plc by omoola007(m): 11:24pm On Apr 06, 2011
Are you then asserting that he is innocent of taking funds from his bank and diverting it to the UK for personal use?

I see your point on maybe the story was false. but the spirit if the story is what i am more interested in.

IS THE MAN GUILTY (OR MORE THAN LIKELY GUILTY) OF STEALING FUNDS FROM HIS BANK?

THE kind of stealing that will require his photo in the guardian disassociating the bank from him,

Poor sense of logic. The issue on the table and the one that made headlinenews is whether a court ordered Akingbola to surrounder any amount or not. If you want to know "how come" he made money in his job, please open another thread.
This thread has been debunked as a falsehood angry
