Is Option A4 A Viable Option For Election In Nigeria? by Solozzo(m): 3:35pm On Apr 05, 2011
In 1993 IBB and the then chairman of the Electoral Commission, Professor Humphrey Nwosu developed a unique election process called Option A4 and it yielded the freest and fairest election Nigeria ever had . Unfortunately the draconian IBB cancelled the famous JUNE 12 Elections.

This method of election was designed to forestall election frauds and corruption practices, because you are made to line up behind the poster of your candidate outside. The people are counted and then you go in and vote and then disparity between the counts outside and the ballot papers indicate fraud. it sounds primitive and time consuming but it was so successful at all stages of the elections.

You are also supposed to have stood election at your ward, local govt and state levels at the primary levels. Gowon was knocked off by a relatively unknown candidate at the local govt level and he had never had the gut t try again since then

Somebody like GEJ may have problems at his base with this method.

What do you NL members think of this method been revisited ?
