In a recent tweet, the President of Nigeria and Commander-In-Chief of the Nigerian armed forces Muhammadu Buhari has charged the new service chiefs to "identify competent officers irrespective of seniority or paper qualifications".

The tweet continues. Who else has noticed that the President of Nigeria has become more serious about security since Joe Biden became the President of the US?

What is Mr.President promoting with this decision? Is he not causing mistrust & unrest in the military hierarchy with this explosive statement after the long unproductive tenures of the past service chiefs may have caused the premature retirement of many competent aspiring officers their career?

It is obvious he wants to continue to implement his avid love for incompetency, mediocrity and ethno-religious supremacist agenda with this senseless policy.The better qualified people will not be appointed but riff raffs because they come from the favoured divide.No wonder!

Yet, about 9000 Nigerians 'liked' the tweet in 10 hours. I think that Nigerians on Twitter might live on a different planet from Nigerians on Nairaland.

This is good coming from a once docile commander in chief.
