But the Nigerian government, through its counsel, J.A, Adamu, raised a preliminary objection arguing that Mr. Gegenheimer being a German and not a West African citizen, lacked the capacity to file the suit at the ECOWAS Court.

Mr German the money too small you should have demanded for N1billion and let the fed govt start negotiating by the time the thing hit them hard they will fire all those useless immigration nonentities.

No discipline everybody just behaves anyhow. Nonsense.

I wonder why we are commenting like the dudes skin color won him the case... It was a simple case of home taking the matter up to a court where his case Wil be gi en fair hearing without the Naija govs influence... How many of us has taken that bold step..
U can read that one of the government" objection was that the case was heard in the ecowas court. They Wil rather he file the case in a high court Where they will scatter the case...

Inferiority complex is messing with your mind, which German?, Tomorrow people like you would say President Buhari no get sense, did you read the article?

Justifying the treatment meted out to him, the government said he was detained for presenting a standard Nigerian passport bearing his photograph and other details, but which when scanned, revealed the name, passport photo and detail of one Tanimu Aisha, a female Nigerian citizen.

The government added that after conclusion of investigation, a charge was filed against Mr Gegenheimer at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, in suit marked FHC/ABJ/CR/152/2020.

It said the criminal case was being processed for a hearing date

Don’t you know you are the one that is going to pay the man? The Government will collect the money from us the Citizens, the verdict said Nigeria should pay, not Ghana, so stop mocking yourself in your ignorance.

My Guy Ecowas Court cannot circumvent a criminal case going on in Nigeria, The Ecowas case is a civil case, Nigeria has filed a criminal case against him. The so called 419 German has admitted to living in Nigeria since 1990, on & off also in Kenya, we know their type, he is also a Nigerian citizen, why did he not use his own Nigerian passport? you are a kid, immigration has caught him at last, he will pay back most of the money to the people he is owing, before he leaves Nigeria, or as usual bribe his way to get bail, then jump bail & disappear through land border like that Ipob fugitive.

The panel of judges didn't consider Nigeria at all. Just keep issuing amounts in millions in favour of this man.

If it were to be a Nigerian court, the judges will award a lesser amount to him. I think our judges need to learn on ensuring true justice.
