At least six herders were killed when gunmen raided a settlement in Wasinmi village, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, on Saturday night.

Daily Trust gathered that immediately the gunmen stormed the Fulani settlement, they opened fire, killing six herders on the spot.

Our correspondent gathered that those killed are members of the same family.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the tragic incident, saying investigation is ongoing.

She said the Commissioner of Police in the State, Wale Olokode, has moved to the village and Police detectives are currently hunting the perpetrators of the act.

The PPRO described the incident as unfortunate and vowed that the culprits would be arrested and brought to book.

The development comes one week after four herders were gunned down during the invasion of a settlement in Ogborji, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), South-East Zone, said many cows were stolen in the attack.

Siddiki added that over 20 Fulani herdsmen have been killed in Anambra alone from January to March, 2021.

I don't wish we go through this path, but when the securities personnel have become a political tools to wage wars against a particular region in favour of other region, then we should expect people to take laws into their hands. Many people will pick up arms. It is a pity, there will be lots of militias that will pick up arms.

Buhari is character that should never been allowed to leave his village from day one ..Many mistakes upon mistakes led to him being here and we can learn from it ..

1. His principal should never have given him than that cover letter when it was clear he didn't pass his final exams .

2. The Nigerian army should have never recruited him with a mere cover letter when he couldn't even provide the minimum educational certificate required .

3. He shouldn't have been promoted based on quota system when he failed all his military promotion exams .

4. He should have been retired by Shagari the day he disregarded Presidential orders and took a military unit into chad .

5 . He should have been jailed for truncating the 2nd republic for no reason

6.. He should have been barred from contesting any Election in Nigeria

The ethnic cleansing has started every region is now attacking Fulani herdsmen this what you get when you have an irresponsive government in power....


The biggest losers here will be the Fulani herdsmen, for so long they've been committing atrocities and they don't have regard for their host as it is now they will be restricted to their base and this will affect their livelihood, its time for them to embrace ranching....
