The management of Fatgbems Petroleum Company Limited hereby regrets the water contamination issue at our IBB retail outlets in Abeokuta today, March 14, 2021.

The said incident was a result of an overflow of water into one of the station storage tanks due to the recent rainfall. It is not in our culture to dispense low-quality products to our customers, as the said incident was a natural occurrence that was beyond our control.

We, therefore, like to appeal to our esteemed customers and the general public to stay calm, measures are already in place to address the issue, and our technicians are currently attending to the affected vehicles of customers.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience that the incident might have caused, "We are saddened by this" "and hereby re-affirm" our commitment to exceptional service delivery at all time.

Water don probably enter their underground tank

This is not an excuse.. there is always daily checks of underground tanks.. this is obviously negligence of the station manager.

Dont stations take quantity reading of underground tanks each day to balance sales?.. if the litres beneath surpassed what was available, why dispense in the first place?..

One day car will ride on water according to one bank PHB advert and now the day has finally come

This is just callous and wickedness. Did they think people wouldn’t find out?

Madam, it was not intentional now. They wouldn’t have filled up their tank or bulk up the fuel in the tank with water

All the same, the filling station has to be responsible for the clean up of the engines affected

Do you expect them to fill their tank with water to start dispensing to cars?

It was a costly and silly mistake on their side. Hence they need being responsible for the cost of all cars affected now and later in the future

FATGBEMS is actually one of the reputable filling stations in Abeokuta.
This may just be accidental as the company said.
Compensation should be duly given to the affected customers.

Okay, this is understandable,
It also sound logical.
It is not a way to make quick money as the headline portray.
That is one of the best filling station in Ogun state.

But, this incident can actually knock vehicles engine on the express way.
They need to be extra careful in this kinda business and block all loopholes there is, (no pun intended!)

We need to start reading past the headlines because, the spread of misinformation online isn’t usually that malicious, it does have an important impact on news audiences.
Headlines and text posts alone can change the way we think about the world without our even knowing it.
