I wrote about the lack of adequate firefighting equipment in Nigeria last year (see thread here https://www.nairaland.com/6098650/naptu2-why-nigerians-need-stop) and I'm happy that something is being done about it.


Federal Fire Service @Fedfireng

The newly procured Modern Aerial Fire Fighting Vehicle was today, 18/3/2021 commissioned by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat who represented the Executive Governor of the State @jidesanwoolu at the event.

The occasion which took place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, Lagos had in attendance the Honourable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, (@raufaregbesola) Senior Staff of the Federal Ministry of Interior and top Lagos state government officials.

This is another badge to the fire fighter, although, the government needs to invest more in that ministry because of lost of lives and properties.
There is nothing bad, if each local government under the state can acquire at least one.

The money spent in celebrating one vehicle is even more than the cost of 10 of such vehicles. Mediocrity at its peak.
