S-South (9.5m) + S-East (7.5m) is 2.8m voters short of the voting strength of the N-West (19.8m)
Re: Jonathan Takes Early Lead by koruji(m): 7:07pm On Apr 16, 2011
You mean 17m vs. 19.8m - not too much different

Re: Jonathan Takes Early Lead by efisher(m): 7:10pm On Apr 16, 2011
^ GEJ can recover the 2.8m offset from the margin in Lagos alone.

For GEJ to win with a very good margin, the North Central has to swing to his side and he should get at least 20% from the North East.

Seriously?   shocked shocked shocked shocked

If this is true NL political analysis and projections are just complete waste of time. People just post from the comfort of thier bedroom with no real knowledge of whats going on. No facts, just made up bunkum.
^^You 've been following the wrong threads. Several people have projected this trend in voting patterns on this thread here

Hope you know that at least 5 million of the 19.8m registered voters in N-West are Igbos. wink wink

There's surely going to be a run off between PDP and CPC, no two way about it. it's going between north and south now.

Abstain from adapting errors of the past by making deductions without having the true pictures of votes cast . .especially the North . .

On NL, but not in the real World. There is very low voter turnout across the North:

4:20pm: Kano records low turnout of voters

Written by Auwalu Umar, Kano Saturday, 16 April 2011 16:33

The Presidential election is recording a low turnout of voters in Kano compared to what was witnessed in last national assembly elections in the state.

Such cases were recorded in Sumaila, Garko, Makoda, Kumbotso and Gezawa. Other places included Shanono, Gwarzo, Karaye, Bagwai and Wudil. Low turnout of women was more pronounced in rural areas where one could not see their presence at various polling units as was the case last week.

Community leaders raised alarm via text messages to media houses over the development, saying the poor turnout of women in particular was a source of concern given the significance of the election.

In Wudil and Garko, community mobilizers had to go house to house to prevail on husbands to allow their wives to go and vote.

There are two conflicting reports as to the cause of poor turnout of voters in this election, according to findings by our reporter.

One of the reports have it that the voters were discouraged by the collapse of the proposed party alliance between Buhari’s CPC and Tunubu’s ACN. The other version of the report is that many women especially in rural areas thought they would only come out to vote without accreditation since they got accredited last week.

It is highly improbable that GEJ will receive a majority of popular votes and highly probable that Buhari will receive a majority of those votes. There is also a chance that Buhari may win this election outright, but my money is on a Buhari/GEJ runoff

^^This election will underline the fact that NW votes alone will not deliver the presidency. Hope you know your beloved Buhari is behind in all regions except the NW? There will be no runoff. GEJ wins outright.
