I have been waiting quietly for the day someone somewhere will challenge the Swiss monopoly of FIFA and UEFA. The biggest casualty is always the Africans whose government have a dangerous stronghold on the growth and development of the game.

At this stage ESL have thrown one card let Uefa respond but honestly the threat from Uefa is not the solution. These clubs are dieing, their funding is a big issue and they are the ones that pay these players.
The proponents have valid argument but are going around it wrongly. You can imagine the embarrassment they have started receiving this evening, one breaking news after another of some of the big clubs withdrawing- Chelsea and Man City in England; Athletico Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, and more to follow. Meanwhile, fans are trooping out in numbers against the move.
How will fans of other clubs that used to love watching Real Madrid playing against their local/home club (e.g. Shakhtar Donestk, Club Brugge, CFR Cluj etc) in their domain support such move? Even the players in so called elite clubs enjoy playing against clubs in their home countries. Now with ESL, clubs of some countries will never be a part.

I remembered when Arsen Wenger was warning the world against radical spending of huge amount of money on players. He said time will come like today when the issues of money will destroy the beautiful game of football.

Now this big clubs have spent huge amount on players plus the covid wahala and they are no more able to foot the bills. Now they are looking for escape route. Wenger was right afterall

Arsene Wenger was only crying about Manchester City and Chelsea, telling us how the Sugar daddies are not good for the game.

Today, Arsenal and the so called no sugar daddy clubs are trying to rail road Manchester City and Chelsea to help save them from going to oblivion.

Arsene Wenger was spreading fake conspiracy theories. The true problem is that the elite clubs want to remain on top, including Arsenal but these club owners don't invest as much as they gain from the clubs.

U have mentioned only barca yet u alleged that "These clubs are dieing". Mention d clubs.

I don't need to check barcas wage bill. Since u have checked it, pls tell me what is wrong with d wage bill.

U say "all the clubs have the income affected by the pandemic yet most players refuse to take pay cut".

Is this d situation in all d clubs in Europe & around d world?

1) All the clubs have their income affected by the pandemic. The debt profile is not looking for good.
2) Honestly I don't know

When the big teams told u UEFA to increase payment for teams participating in the UCL,they turned deaf ears to their pleas and cries. The only way they could get them to comply was to come with this 'action film' called ESL. This move has forced UEFA to go back to its drawing and make amends as to increasing club income who will participate in the UCL from next season. Wisdom is profitable to direct I swear
