Police are armed with ak-47 rifles,why can't they secure the perimeter of their station by positioning men outside of their stations and also those inside the stations get ready for any attack and repel the rampaging gunmen.

What's going on?

The police don't have the numbers. In one the news report I read, the UGM numbered about 40 men? How many police stations or check point can face that number of men? Especially those who believe (rightly or wrongly) that they are invulnerable to bullets. Unfortunately, with attendant killing of police men in other part of the country, especially in the North, the police force is rapidly dwindling, and many people are not willing to join them.

Nigeria police don't have have the ammo. And more importantly, they don't believe in what they are fighting for. So they are disadvantaged from start.

Finally, they don't have local support. The civil population loath them and will not provide them valuable and timely intel.

They are an endangered specie; they need to put up a big show, re-strategize or negotiate.

A country that keep covering misdemeanor in high and low places looking the other way,

How do expect competence from such a country.

Instead incompetence is what the country will get in abundance. Can't u see incompetence is now what is invoke. What are u waiting for, won't u join the bandwagon?
