In NIGERIA, since 1999, we have had one security problem to the other. FULANI HERDSMEN/Farmers clashes has been an age long crisis in the country.

1999-2007. Obasanjo; I was a little boy back then but an avid follower of Nigeria and world politics. There was an absolute in security in the land. There was the Age long farmers Herders crisis, claimed lots of lives in platue, Kaduna, taraba.
There was ethnic clashes for months in Delta, kastina, Sokoto, Lagos, Ife, Anambra, Nasarawa.
There was political assassination, Chief Bola Ige, Funso williams, Ademola Daramola(the ekiti state gov candidate who just returned from USA), Chumwa Okadigbo, and lots more of political assassinations.

There was Arm robbery on a massive scale accross the country, and chief among them, the militancy crisis in Niger Delta. It was and still remain a Disastrous security situation.

President Yar adua 2007-2009. The tension of Obasanjo left and the calmness of Yar adua came. However, within 9months, he ended the militancy in Niger Delta, but the FULANI/Farmers clashes persisted. Ethnic crisis was still going on especially in North. There was little political assassinations like Obasanjo. But his administration gave birth to what has been Nigeria greatest 9thmare( BOKO Haram) history has it that it was his administration.
That hardened BOKO Haram by killing mohammed yusuf in his cell in police custody. This gave birth to a monster the country may never recover from.

Goodluck Jonathan 2009-2015: The coming of Goodluck Jonathan was by far seen as a sign of relief for NIgerians especially southern Nigeria. But it was one many will security wise as one which can only be RIVALED by the civil war in NIGERIA in 1967-1970. It was more like hell was let lose in the country. The monster of BOKO haram germinated. They became the poster boys of insecurity in Nigeria. FULANI HERDSMEN/Farmers clashes was still visible Accross the nation. Senators, house of reps members, Emirs were killed by BOKO haram, churches, mosques, viewing centers, hotels, scholes we're bombed. Telecom mast, and the rest we're bombed. Over 250,000 person were killed by BOKO haram and over 2million displaced by the insurgents. The farmers/Herders clashes Continued to claim more lives including two serving Senators. Kidnapping relocated to south east as they kidnapped for as low as N30,000 for ransom. There was still ethnic clashes in Osun, Ibadan, Anambra. There was an unforgivable DISASTER in security achitecture of the country. No day passes with hearing 3-5 bomb blast killing multiple people. It was like a war situation..

President Buhari 2015-2021: There is a reason why you don't judge a book according to the cover. Going into 2015 election, there has never been any time in the country where so much hope was placed on a candidate. President Buhari was unarguably the supposed messiah. A former head of state with huge reputation in the past even as a minister under Abacha. So much was expected. But I m not sure anyone will come out to say he is satisfied with the president. Banditary which was in it's early stages in 2013 graduated into full scale Banditary, bandits having a full time, FULANI HERDSMEN/Farmers clashes spreading accross the country While there is little success in the fight Against BOKO haram giving the end( temporarily or not) on suicide bombing and attack on worship, recreational centers, BOKO haram are still causing havoc in some parts of north eastern states and recently just attacked Niger state a North central state. If Yar Adua is reputed to be responsible for hardening BOKO haram, and GEJ Responsible for allowing them to turn into a monster, president buhari is responsible for the growing insecurity in South east. The idiots causing insecurity in south east might be self inflicting injuries on themselves like BOKO haram, but the president docility and cluelessness urge these guys on

The current president has been an absolute disaster in securing lives and properties. I never imagined that the country will be in this kind of mess under him security wise.

If it takes over 4 prime minister for UK to get out of Brexit, we should try someone else to fight insecurity because so far the president is a Disaster in securing lives and properties

BUT WHO WILL SECURE OUR LAND?

One thing I have noticed about Nigeria situation, our complains about the government have always been generational... We complain , complain without proferring any solution.

Pls which community has been producing people leading us? Have we had any discussion regarding that same community?

As a Nigerian, ask yourself what have you done in your own capacity to turn things around...

Average Nigerians believe it is only when they are in any political position they can contribute their own quota, wrong mentality.. If individuals are doing their quota while still putting government on their toes to do their own part things would have been more better.

Wondering where are the ex governors, ex senators, ex reps, failed contestants, have they suddenly lost interest in the country abi na only when election is coming they always have solution?

Usual Nigeria slang, it go better, it go better wey we don dey talk for decades.

@your second to last paragraph, we will definitely try someone else because Buhari's chances will be over and this place is not Russia!

To a great degree, Buhari failed!

God help Nigeria

I supported the president from 2015. Hoping that he will remedy the Security situation. He did well to peg BOKO haram back, but allowed banditary to fester in the land. Farmers Herders clashes took another dimension. How can anyone be happy with the state of the country?

I know you must blame Obasanjo no matter what.
The genesis of this mess was the shift of power to southern Christians after 20 years of northern Muslim rule (1979-99).

The security problem we're facing today was caused by the likes of Pantamis and Buhari....yes starting with Sharia in Zamfara state.
And don't compare it with niger delta agitation or arm robbery, they've always been armed robbers in Nigeria since the 80s.
