The Police in Ogun State have appealed to members of the public, especially citizens of Ijohun in Egbado North Local Government Area of the state, to remain calm following the killing of the Onijohun of Ijohun, Oba Jimoh Olubo.

The monarch was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in a private hotel at Igbogula, Ogun State penultimate Friday.

Some aggrieved people in Ijohun community allegedly attributed the murder of Olubo to political differences in the Ogun West senatorial district of the state.

However, the Police said that it was too early to conclude that the incident was politically motivated as investigation was still on.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, who spoke to our correspondent, warned the people not to fuel the crisis by their hasty conclusion.

Adejobi said, “The Police are already conducting an investigation into the matter and we are sure that we would get to the root of it all in good time and make our findings known to the public as soon as practicable.

“We are not resting on our oars. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.”
