A former Presidential Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba has taken a swipe at President Muhammed Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the First and Second Ladies for staying away from the burial of the Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers who died in the Ill-fated flight to Kaduna.

It was observed that whilst some Governors were involved with their respective campaigns, others alongside some Ministers and top National Assembly members were in attendance at the high-profile wedding ceremony of the son of the Attorney-General of the Federation, Malami in the Kano Metropolis.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru alongside ten other Officers died in a plane crash in Kaduna State on Friday when the Beachcraft 350 aircraft came down due to bad weather.

They were laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja on Saturday.

In a war situation, we lost four generals , majors and lieutenants, yet neither the President nor his vice, senate President nor his deputy, speaker nor his deputy deem it fit to grace the burial.

Even the wife of the COAS was neither accompanied by First Lady or second lady.

Only two Govs, Zulum & Buni with few ministers might have attended. While Gov. Wike is having Political Rally, other govs are attending a wedding in Kano.

I saw the video of the wife of late COAS walking to pay her last respect to her husband with few friends. I was heartbroken.

Yet most of these leaders may say they have a very important reason why they didn’t attend. Coincidentally, all of them. None of them would sacrifice 30 minutes for the life of soldiers who died trying to protect us. The highest level officers of our land.

How can that be?

For them, Twitter is enough for condolences, but they can go campaigning all over the country, during elections.

Apparently, the only thing that matters to our leaders is not us, or even the most senior members of their appointees, but political power.

I was told the Senate President @DrAhmadLawan and the Governor of Kaduna @elrufai were also at the funeral of the Late COAS, 3 Generals, Majors & the Lieutenants.

May Allah reward them for the honor they extended to our rising heroes on their last day of their sojourn on earth.

Mallam Adamu Garba, don't politicized everything, allow Attahiru to rest in peace. They have a reason for not attending the burial since the whole thing about his death is questionable. May be some people are planning coup d'etat. Nigeria is at war with itself so the President and his VP will have to be very careful now.

This sort of comments from you folks makes me wonder if you are really humans or bots. Buhari and/or Osinbajo have no excuse for missing that burial...even if they didn't stay till the end.

Just like Adamu pointed out, it just goes to show that these folks have no regards for anyone. Buhari has shown over the years that he has no regards for anyone and it is quite unfortunate.
