Is This N25,000 For A 6.30am To 10pm Cleaner Job Worth It? by Nobody: 12:25pm On May 26, 2021
I saw this cleaner job vacancy at old English bakery at GRA,Ikeja,Lagos after months of job hunting.Due to unavailability of one's preferred kind of job,I like hotel jobs a lot,I decided to submit my CV to one of the bakery security man.

It is hard to get a hotel job at GRA Ikeja despite the big and many hotels located there though.Man know man things.

I was called to come for an interview at their head office in omole phase 1.

I attended the interview. But the salary is manageable being that I am a single man without even a girlfriend.Early 30's.But the resumption time was shocking.I would resume by 6.30am and closes by 10pm for #25k!

Which kind cleaning work be that? And the bakery is own by a Nigerian. No break or free lunch.

My mind told me there were other tasks I would be doing apart from cleaning because no cleaner would work till that time.

So has anyone who have worked there before knows the job description in old english bakery?

How about I teach you freelance writing and you earn more than that weekly?

Its a terrible offer. 6am to 10pm as in you wake up by 5a.m, get to work by 6am, dismiss work by 10pm, get home by 11pm What time do you have for yourself? Cooking, washing and personal time between 11pm to 5am. You no go sleep again?
Just for 25k a month! Less than $100. Even labourers on site make more money. Reject it! Normally cleaners job is from 7a.m to around 10 a.m

No of course it's not worth it. there's this girl in the organization I'm serving, she has finished her service year and she wasn't retained like her colleagues obviously because her bum bum is not as big as theirs. She applied for a cleaner job for 30k even tho her transport fare monthly is more than 30k. I wonder why she is doing the job. I asked her, she said she knows what she's doing. I hope you too know what you are doing

It's not about what the cleaner job is worth, the main question is what are you worth?

My advice 4 is to learn a skill, even if its any low paying skill at least sometin dat will earn you something to substain urself and be self employed. Nigerian employers are just out to rip off employees, making u work like a slave and eat like an ant. Ppl will only hail u in ur environment that u are employed but u can't pay your bills, what kind of life is that.

My basic expenses per month is roughly 100k, my other expenses fueling my car and others run over 60k talk about rent and other bills but I'm not bothered, i can get that from one job alone, when i get up to 3 jobs a month means i will ball hard and put cash into other personal projects coz i work for myself and no one else. Bro self employment is the only way out of proverty.

People are just 2 wicked
Working from 6am-10am for just 25k? Common

Bros I can't advise u not to do it, cos I don't no ur situation.
If it very hard for u to survive, I will say go for it. But have it in mind u will soon leave it.
But if u are not pressurized, bros look else where abeg.

Is sitting at home from 6:30am to 10pm without anything for the next few months with so many lacks and needs staring you in the face worth it?
Ask yourself this question over and over again and youll get the perfect answer yourself.

In this period where everyone is looking for means to survive you still want to be checking time? With this current inflation where 100 can no longer afford a cup of drinking garri?

I'll advise you take up the job in the meantime and be looking out for another one while at it. Better than nothing.

you are in your early 30 without a girl friend and ready to waste alot of your precious time on a useless job that does not add any value to your life for 25k. This is worst than 21 first century slavery. Op take your head to any of your pal and beg him to knock it really hard to reset your brain and drive a way any thought of poverty in your life. You are in your early thirties and haven't achieve any meaningful with your life.
I think it is high time you sit yourself down, think about what you really want in life and work towards achieving your goals. Dedicated okada, keke and taxi drivers make more than 25k monthly. Stop being a slave

angry Alaye don’t do it.

Please don’t waste the useful part of your life on that job.

When taking some offers, check if you will have the chance to work on a side hustle or go for interviews. This particular cleaner job is different. It is dawn to dusk everyday. You won’t even have time to sleep before you have to leave home for work in the morning. And for what? 25k. That may not even be enough for transport and feeding.

If you take that job you will understand what I’m talking about in 2 days.

And yes, you are right. It won’t just be cleaning alone. Have you ever seen a cleaner who only cleans without other menial tasks attached?
