Is China a democracy?

India is threatening to ban social media - democracy. US is a democracy and is prosecuting people for attacking its unity and democracy when they overran Capitol Hill. What’s your point? No be una dey shout no other country would do this? Any country will fight for its unity.

Do I agree with a Twitter ban? Not really there could’ve been other ways to deal with it but since Jack and his poor ass wants to go there, we will finish it. We don’t need Twitter they contribute nothing to this country and if they will not deal the same with secessionist then we have to wonder what their agenda really is towards Nigeria. Shikenan.

That will be every single one of the G7 nations, every country in BRIC, and literally any nation on the note on this globe. Literally, every country is grappling with how to deal with social media and the monster it has become. From false information to bullying, racism, social manu=ipulation, and corporate espionage, these are some of the crimes these social media giants have been accused of.
Facebook was about to get banned in Australia just some months ago, these social media companies see themselves as demigods, using analytics to compile unethical data and i=using said data for social manipulation.
If a government is up and doing, then it won't be afraid of social media. But because we have greedy and wicked people who like to hide their atrocities, they will naturally be afraid of social media

No sane country will follow.

Specify the countries as undemocratic as people call Russia and Turkey they are yet to ban it.

Dictators are attacking free speech, attacking access to information, people are cheering them on.

This is how communism starts.
The moment they go beyond bound in those countries, too, they would be banned.

Ok first I never said no other country would do this.
The china you tried to use as an example is an authorization communist state, they never claimed to have freedom of speech.
India, from this post are looking to regulate social media in their country, by making sure they provide a costumer service in the country.

America still has separatists, that keep claiming the "south will rise"
As long as these people don't become violent they are free to want their own country.

This government IMO was responsible for the creation of the current violent Biafra separatists we have today. It mostly started out as a non violent protest a few years back, then the government's ill reasoned response led to what we have today.

This is A great Idea,
i just wish other countries will follow suit, if you as a social Media company wants to earn from a country, you need/Must have an official office in the said Country, before citizens to use your portal. Rules are laws apply differently in different countries. There are both positive and Negative effects of Social Media in decision making processes.
Honest Opinion.

Jack is such a stupid fellow. How do you think you are above the laws of the land you operate in? Canada, UK and a host of other countries have had to rein him in at one point in time or the other

The simpletons among our citizens, who are still suffering from colonial mentality, actually see the buffon as a god above their land because of the colour of his skin and their morbid hatred for the person of the president.

They are like a landlord who intentionally sets his house on fire in order to eject an unliked tenants, most of them are products of poor and dysfunctional upbringings

May God help us parents in not failing in raising our kids and instilling self esteem into them

I have stated clearly that I’m against the ban. I’m also affected so what’s your point?

Fact is, some of these big techs need to be regulated. Giving them the power to censor the speech of a president is going too far. We should never put a foreign tech company above the president of our country no matter how much we hate him. It’s just Buhari today, I could be any other world leader tomorrow.

From your earlier comment, it seems you're supporting it.
There are several means to regulate big techs and banning all citizens from accessing the site in a democratic state is all shades of wrong.
This demonic government has made it hard for the youths to earn a living.
I've lost a lot just today. Just today alone. I curse buhari, his family and supporters

So pushing the Indian narratives will make Nigeria see reasons to go on with the Twitter hullabaloo will be fully justified. I hope y'all know India is not Nigeria and Nigeria can never be India.
