The honest truth is Nigerian government can ban twitter if the legislative (masses spokesperson) deem it fit to ban...not just over the night without due process...

Twitter has the right to remove or ban if u violates its rules and regulations so also the nation can do vice versa....

If a government had designated a group as a terrorist group, Twitter has no justification to allow such groups to propagate their rhetoric via their platform.

If you use America as a case study here u re totally wrong twitter has a full right license to operate in America so far it didn't break America's law so also anyone in America must not break twitter law... Even if jack twits send a wrong signal the message will be removed.

We all know if u write what nairaland mods see as against its rules u will be suspended (ask Nwamaiipke)

Nigeria should follow due process that's my own opinion

U cants use Facebook in China....
And no one crucify China for that
Are you aware the government determines the number of children you have and they send muslims to concentration camps in China.

Do you want that as well or is that "different"?

We have never seen this kind of rulership before and that is y we saw deputation take over from the former government good luck .
After fighting corruption what next then nothing and all the funds claimed that were recovered by the govt how far with the funds .Absolute nothing .
Inflation is on the rise on a daily basis and the rate at which inocebt civilians are dieing is unspeakable .
The president has never addressed this issue rather he is talking of Twitter and maybe Instagram will follow next .
So Twitter is more important than hundreds of people dieing and the suffering.
Chai 360days ×2 still remain way we never enter .
Let God not let us see our back with our eyes

I laugh at the joke called Nigeria or UAR grin grin But to be serious, if the govt was certain that twitter funded endsars protests, why didn't they sue the company for damages?

The ugly truth is that the govt isn't transparent, accountable or even capable one bit.

Then a credible govt would have sued Jack for his last dollar but alas, the likes of Lieing Moh'd have no credibility.....
No character or substance

Nonsense write up. We all the know the role of twitter during EndSARS protests.

Twitter Nigeria is being run by dangerous people, whose sole objective is to discredit and bring down the government. The bias is too much imagine them looking away from the inciting posts of Terrorist Nnamdi Kanu and then removing the post of the President, because he promised to deal with people that are killing police officers, burning government buildings, raiding and setting prison inmates free.
You are a wise man

Kanu’s rhetorics are also as bad as buhari’s . Let’s call a spade a spade . I think Twitter should have removed some of Kanu’s comments too . Now notwithstanding, banning a platform that has other great uses because of a deleted post is terrible judgement . Buhari keeps showing that he only shows strength on the weak (“kind bully”) and cowers when the opposition shows considerable strength . I wish he can somehow leave or resign before the end of his tenure . The whole country is tired of him

This is the first President of Nigeria that 99% of Nigerians are tired of including even the northerners, the man is a curse: Leadership is a calling and not something someone will just jump into because he feels he can do. The man is simply not called to be a leader, that's a fact. Obasanjo , no matter how bad people think he might be is destined to be a leader. lf you checked the two terms he had led Nigerians both in military and democracy, the stars worked with him and the economy picked up big time. But this monumental failure just brought disaster to the country in both his military and civilian rule. He's simply not destined to be a leader period, the stars is totally against him. He's bad luck,

Still doesn't answer d question I asked:

If Twitter could ban Trump d president of d US where Twitter is headquartered, why does buhari think he is so important that his tweet can't be and should be deleted? is buhari not already a bigger threat to nigerias corporate existence than Twitter?

What is d correlation between your status as a monkey and d topic of discussion?

So it's Twitter that is the adjudicator that will determine whether Mr. President used the right phrase.

Listen to yourself.
As if you don't know that Twitter has it's rules and regulations. People reported the tweet and it was removed ,so why are you guys pained about it ? Even here on nairaland, if someone views your post as offensive or in contrast to the rules and reports it ,the mods usually removes it.

Dem say cleric burn, you dey ask of him beards.

Has he not funded endSARS by so doing? Why are there too many dumb people from this side like this? What exactly is Jack's business in the first place? You think his calling for donation on behalf of whatever won't make a huge difference? It's just like the referee of a football match coaching your opponent during a game.

Can you imagine?

By asking for donations, he can be accused of "sponsorship" in fact. But, you never hear did from Femi Falana's lips.

A THOUSAND BUHARI WOULD NOT SAVE THIS NATION SAYS THE LORD GOD OF HOSTS

This is what the Lord God of Hosts, said concerning the present state of the nation (Nigeria) in particular and Africa in general: A thousand Buhari wouldn’t save this nation except to leave it in the hands of few Muslims in the long-run, to share the nation among themselves and run it as their private enterprises and the scrambling had started. Nigerians should watch and see themselves being shared into the hands of few persons according to religions and regional lines...
