ModeNine beefs Alaba boys

There is a new steak cooking in ModeNine’s musical grill. The

rapper is directing his anger at the music marketers, also known as ‘Alaba

Boys,’ describing them as player-haters.

“They are jealous of ModeNine because they know I am hot. They

do not understand my music and that is because they are not sharp. I won’t

really blame them; it is just because they are backward,” he says.

ModeNine, whose real name is Oluwasegun Babatunde, says his

refusal to dance to the tunes of the marketers is a major factor.

“I refuse to be swayed. I choose to play the kind of music I

like, which is hip-hop and if they do not understand my style of music, then it

is not my fault. I don’t think I have to play a club banger for them to

understand and sell my music.”

The building technology graduate of the Bida Polytechnic has

been busy throwing verbal blocks at the ‘Alaba Boys’ even though he is

currently working with T. Joe, a collaboration he predicts is short-lived.

“T. Joe is my marketer for now but I may be forced to fire him

if he fails to perform. The structure as regards music distribution and sales

is nothing to write home about in Nigeria. A lot has to be done in that regard so artists can have their money’s worth,” the rapper says.

In recent times, ModeNine has been involved in a lyrical war with Ruggedman.
