How is this an issue?

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM WAGE THERE ?

Some that earns 10,000 dollars in a month there, which is approximately 7m is the same class as someone who earn 300k here.

Nigerian is blessed with cursed leaders.

Who wan pay you $10,000 per month?

The price for these goods has skyrocketed x3 from the time you made this post to now.

10,000 dollars is not minimum wage ogringringrin.
For you to be earning 10k a month, has to be maybe you're in tech or banking or you run a good business or escort service or real estate or onlyfans or something like that.

With $10k a month, you can buy a house there in less than two years. With 300k here, where you'll build and what you would build has to be taken into consideration. Being that inflation is crazy now.
It beats my imagination how someone will equate somebody earning $10000 with another earning 300k here. They are not even close to warrant comparison.

Large peak milk is sold for $39
That is outrageous price. It suppose to be less than half of that price.
Price of garri should not be more than five dollars.

I think those shop owners got it expensive from their suppliers.

Asian shops sell all those things in some countries.
They try to satisfy their customers.

U should be grateful NAIRALAND still has a few people like us left. Many graced this site & were chased out by lots like you.

People like you are the reason a lot of people don't transact businesses with Nairalanders.
U are part of the reason NAIRALAND scores low in terms of business partnership.

It's a cycle. Same thing applies to cars and others manufactured abroad are cheaper there but we pay crazily for even used ones here.
So they should also have used Alomo and Orijin bitters that will be lesser grin

Its LA..not normal American price.
LA/NY most expensive place in America..you no get money.no go there oh.

Na lie! I live in South Carolina and the prices are the same. I have 3 same bottles of Aloma Bitter. I am a hoarder and every time I take a shot of Aloma before sex, the extra performance is guaranteed for me. I just keep them in case I need them. I used to buy the smaller peak milk with 48 in the cartoon for $40 last year. This year it went to $48 before tax and now it is $53 dollars before taxes. I drink Oatmeal a lot to soften constipation. The combo of Oatmeal and peak milk will always send me to toilet.

My apartment was $1200 for 2-bedroom in February this year and now it is $1800. I kind of fault government on that. Everything just skyrocketed. Also soaring home price! I have a friend who bought a gently used 4-bedroom for $220K in early 2019 and now worth $520K right now. To him, it is a blessing but for the new owner, it seems like a ripoff!

High cost of living is affecting every facet of America. There are so many items on the isles and shelves at Walmart and Sam's Club that have seen high price increase. For example at Sam's Club, I used to buy a cooking vegetable Canola Oil made by Wesson for $7.99 at 4.73 Litters or 1.2 gallons. That was late last year! Early this year, it was $11.99 and now it sells for $14.99.

I just thank God that with my job, I can afford them.

Yes, cursed leaders, but you won't expect to still buy goods that sell for 1k at 1k when your minimum wage increases, these things never really end. For instance, initially, I convert money before spending, I pay rent of over 300k on BQ monthly Elect/Water/Wifi inclusive, and spend over 150k on food (I'm not really a foodie)..... But then I realized, I was no longer in NaijaOver here, there are people who still squat 3-4 in a room, there are people who live on 50k monthly and they are foodies unlike me. I came to the conclusion that "life is not balanced anywhere". The only difference is the basic amenities readily available, the beautiful things around, the safety of life and property, and the basic health facility. Other than that, nothing else, but back home, there is this inclusiveness, get up do anyhow you like, fresh air that you won't get elsewhere, unless you were really really living in abject poverty back home before you left, then you'd see your escape as a dream come true and your new location as heaven or paradise.
