The majority of Nigerian youths are reasonable & objective like you, only that they keep silent, when the insidious rebels are making noise.
We have only one country to call ours & we have what it takes to make it great again, had the Europeans ran away from Europe due to bad economy, they wouldn't be this great.

This is the real world where actions have consequences and emotions have zero value.
How was the result of "dealing" with them since 2015?

The person that said this thing is stupid. So everything discourages investors. The right thing should not be done again. These people continue milking Nigerians without paying taxes but now that the government wants to recover taxes it is discouraging investors

Nigeria gives many incentives for Investors but yet the same crooks never solve any problems only how to cheat the system and repatriate their profits abroad.

That is because Nigeria tax authority doesn't monitor tax enforcement. Tax should be collated every year or quarter

Another attempt at blackmailing the FG.
Any investor that is discouraged should do what the owners of Shoprite have done.
Incase they want to move, if one door no close, another one no go open.
Concerning the employment situation in Nigeria, he that is down needs to fear no foe.

FG has an obligation to the Nigerian consumer to protect them from over pricing, this is the government job...we have other options, the market is king.

Multichoice is very greedy! They make alot of money but run away from paying taxes.

Well...funny thing is that after the government forces them to pay the tax, Multichoice will still recover the money from their mumu subscribers by increasing the prices of their decoders and bouquets which the foolish subscribers will still buy because they want to watch useless programs like Zee World, Big Brother, African Magic etc.

All these paid fooolishh lobbyists doing a terrible job. Why must so many Nigerians pull Nigeria down for the sake of personal financial gains?
So y'all mean that a foreign company should come in and pay no tax then rake in millions? You will complain that the foreign companies are not regulated y'all will still cry when regulator want to do their work. Why are idiots like this?
Anyway, Carlo M. Cipolla warns against the dangers of human stupidity in his book The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

I wonder how much was paid to New Telegraph to write this report. Not all Nigerians can be fooled with this. Any investor who engages in tax evasion should be made to pay. We have laws and it must be complied with.

It will be naive of anyone to think multichoice has not paid any taxes over the years. Atleast I know they pay the increased vat if nothing.
Come to think of it, if NTA (funded by government) were functioning properly, will anyone have any reason pay multichoice for their services? Government owns NTA, it cannot even survive without government funding. It operates the same open market place as other privately owned TV services, now you want to hit multichoice with heavy bill, the only TV services that keeps our head calm in this country.
Anyway, aboki civil servants destroying as usuall yet they cannot create anything. They regulate airlines yet cannot setup and run a national airline, they regulate shipping industry yet cannot run just 1 ship, they regulate hospitality business yet cannot run just 1 hotel, Healthcare but cannot run gov owned hospitals. Regulate power yet no light, regulate petroleum yet cannot run a refinary and have to outsource it to another aboki to build refinary.
Kill multichoice naa, we will go back to watch nta2, nta5, and NTA 10. Hope you also know multichoice is owned by a Nigerian Adewumi Adesanya, a lawyer. He is only subscribed to dstv services from South Africa.

It is quite unfortunate that many people on this forum don't read (to understand).

The post isn't saying that the FG shouldn't go after these guys, it is instead saying that if the FG doesn't stand its ground to get this tax and instead allowed what happened with MTN to repeat itself, it would lead to a situation where companies can lobby, get away with taxes or pay at the discretion of some people instead of the law which would weaken foreign investors' faith in the FG because companies can be randomly asked to be taxes while others are let off the hook.

Yeah, Afterall some of us no kuku a get money go shop at Shoprite all these years, so we go there to watch the disgusting former middle class spend money we no get on their lavish taste while we snap pictures showing we go Shoprite. Good to see the former owners left jare. Dstv too should close down if they cannot pay $2billion! Let all those mony miss road not have the opportunity to pay and watch dstv, let them watch NTA 10, ogtv, like the rest of us ordinary Nigerians.
Afterall when one door closes another will open. He who is doen fears no fall. undecided
