Nigerians that have been emigrating to the United States since time immemorial should keep it up, please.

You guys, through your progenies, gave us world-class male and female basketball teams and now, our first Olympic gymnast.

The emigration to the states should not stop, please.

Nigerians are quick to associate with success but if it's the other way round, they'd be silent.

This is someone who was neither born nor bred in Nigeria; his father was born in Nigeria. According to the article, he only visits Nigeria twice.

Great achievement for him.

But Nigeria is also offering a platform and an opportunity to be an Olympian, something he may never have achieved with the States, so it is a symbiotic relationship for a lot of sportsmen and women.

Listened to him this morning speak about the whole thing. Humble guy. Just wishing him the best.

If we were sensible in this country, we should hold him up as a matchstick to ignite interest in other sporting events.

Wow finally someone is representing
And It can only be Igbo the blessed tribe of Judah. Nigerian system would have been fixed had they allowed Igbos to pilot the affairs of that Country.

That's pretty awesome. I wish the Olympics wasn't in TokyNO, so I would actually want to watch.

Sometimes in a bid to complain about Nigeria we make silly statements.

In the Olympics each country picks the sports that they're good in or the sport in which they're likely to win gold.
Naturally, Nigerians, Africans and blacks in general are not interested in gymnastics. It's only very few blacks that do gymnastics.
Do you think it is a coincidence that you have more blacks doing 100m race?
Do you think it is a coincidence that you have more whites doing swimming?

The sports that we're good in like football, basketball, table tennis, running, boxing, long jump are not even getting much attention, you're now talking about sports that we don't even engage in.

Gymnastics was a no go area for Nigerians because you need to start as a child but Nigeria has no plans for children so to say. Thanks to the united states for bailing us out.
