Yes it is, it is called treason and punishable in certain democratic countries by death! Secession in itself is not as dangerous, it is the acts that follows when the request for secession is denied such as banning movemnet, burning properties, killing uniform men etc.

This useless man again, these people don't even know how angry Nigerians become once they get out of this country and see good developments happening in other countries. Just go to a small South Korea and see how they turned a small valley into one of the best attractive destinations in the world that even Americans are dying to get into. South Korea is exactly little less than 1/9th of Nigeria in total area but its economy is as much as 3 times bigger than Nigeria. South Korea is an example of an optimized space turned into creativity, they did not allow their small landmass to hinder their economic expansion due to surging population (+50m people) on the back of rapid growth of their GDP, they rely on skyscrapers as alternatives to scattered settlements of their citizens in small sized buildings, at least more than 60% of South Koreans live in high-rise buildings with some of the best modern facilities in the world, the likes of most of which are comparable in quality to skyscrapers you will find in places like Vancouver, Canada.
Ask yourself, is it not the same head that Nigerians have that South Koreans are carrying about, why is it so difficul to use of our own to innovate our ways out of these problems? 1 Like |

That's the problem, the Nigerian Constitution does not make provisions for secession in fact it treats all separatists as treason, this is why they can arrest anyone pushing such narratives so in short there's nothing like legal secession as far as the Nigerian constitution is concerned, only available option is a National Referendum which majority of those in politics will never allow. |

If i can summarise your post in four points? It says. 1. This Government is a Payback to the south for coup of the past. 2. The north will divide the Country when it is capable of fending for itself. 3. The South are intellectually deficient when it comes matter of polictics in comparison to the North. 4. That the Igbos want a break away because they are not at the helm of affairs in the Country. In your posts you have acknowledged that North can not stand on its own thus it needs access Oil money and you have also acknowledged that it's a fake Union but the country is being held together by brute force for economic benefits according to your post (Nothing new in this). It was the basis for the Southern and Northern protectorates amalgamation in the first place. I dont think you understand the Southern struggle. It is all about Justice, Equity and Fairness, when you have these i do not think the citizens will take up arms against the state. If i were the North i will start the reconfiguration of the country immediately since this is your Government now.
