Insufficient infrastructure is what make foreign goods cheaper than locally produced because when a local manufacturer includes all the high costs theres no way his products wont be expensive if he want to make any profit....

Infrastructure will drive the economy but of course not alone....when road is being constructed....local food vendors sell food....local suppliers of gravel sand iron wood etc are used....local labour is used.....for that period the economy of that locality will improve...
And sustained infrastructural development means theres a steady flow of money in that economy...after this industries make use of the good roads

Even in countries where there's good infrastructure, power logistics, 80% of such new business fail in the first 5 years. In the Nigeria environment bereft of meaningful infrastructure maybe 95% of the new business will disappear in 3 years.

What of the billions invested in farmers, processors, and small scale manufacturing at concessionay rates? What of the govt intervention programs in textile, mills, milk production, poultry support etc?

What is the interest rate in Niherian banks today? You did not see this part of the chinese economy?

Where did china get the money they plan to invest?

Its tax from businesses they supported. Did you hear that they were going to borrow?
