Good evening everyone. A quick question. Can someone who is not subject to immigration control (on Exempt vignette) claim public funds? Thanks. |

AlakeOfEngland: Bros... you cant access public funds. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/exempt-exm/exempt-exm https://visaguide.world/europe/uk-visa/employment/exempt-vignette/ |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by BorisJohnson(f): 9:51pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
Ray7878: I beg to disagree. The exemption only applies to border control. |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AlakeOfEngland: 10:11pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
BorisJohnson:Yes, it doesn't but I thought if one fulfills one of the conditions (in here is fulfilled an exemption from immigration control) then one can claim public funds? I'm now more confused than ever before. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Ray7878: 10:22pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
AlakeOfEngland: It’s actually quite straightforward. The question isn’t if you are under immigration control. You are past that point, because you are exempt from immigration control. You don’t need a right of abode to have access to public funds. The question is can people who are exempt from immigration control have access to public fund and the answer is yes. If you have no access to public fund then it would state it in your vignettes clearly. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by BorisJohnson(f): 10:51pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
AlakeOfEngland: Alake..... Before you let someone confuse you on this forum, I hope you know that there is an aspect of this whole thing that it's only you that knows? So far on this forum, it's only you that knows the precise reason why you have that exemption vignette. Again, I will say it. Having an exemption vignette alone does NOT give u access to public funds. Although I am tempted to ask, but I will not ask you which of the categories is your exemption based on. 1 Like |

Ray7878: Please, kindly do not say this as if you are sure. You do not know the basis for the exemption (in this case). |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AlakeOfEngland: 11:09pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
BorisJohnson: You have actually asked indirectly though The exemption is based on Section 8 (2) or (3). |

Please can someone explain, in its simple way, what 37.9% APR (variable) of a credit card mean? Thank you 1 Like |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Lexusgs430: 2:57am On Mar 22, 2022 |
babajeje123: It means using money on such a credit card is expensive borrowing ........ But on the up side, they are credit building cards, they help build your credit report....... Don't spend, what you cannot payback...... You don't have to pay all back, if spending is minimal and under control........ Look at it this way, high street banks/certain lenders would offer you the same credit card at 0.00% Apr ......... 37.9 vs 0.00...... 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Ticha: 3:00am On Mar 22, 2022 |
babajeje123: 37.9% of the balance (eg 5000)/ 12 to give you a monthly payment or x12 to give you the annual interest payment. Basically if you have a loan or credit for 3k, your annual repayment if you don't clear the balance every month is 3k x 37.9. https://www.thebalance.com/calculate-monthly-interest-315421 - breaks it down even further. 4 Likes 4 Shares |
