This is your ONE LIEGERIA. Sooner than later, there would be NO doctors left in that ZOO and the SAI BABARIANS, HUMBLED SLAVES, SOCIAL MEDIA ALMAJIRIS and B0K0HARI APOLOGISTS who are happy to be FULANI SLAVES would STILL be happy in their ONE LIEGERIA. The irony is that these dumb folks would be the ones that would bear the brunt of this scarcity of healthcare professionals because their FULANI MASTERS and their families can afford to hop in an airplane and go abroad for treatment. You guys are in for a long ride to NOWHERE!

..and where did I say doctors are not relevant? You clearly have comprehension issues for one so smart
What you call stupidity is migration, something even older than civliization. When species (except plants) are in a place that is not favourable, they either adapt, migrate, or die . Its nature. Just because you choose to live in a dump like an animal doesnt make you smarter. In fact you get no medals for living like a beast so you can miss me with all that arrogance.

I only respond to a subject where you highlight the banking sectors as doing better than the health. It was a reply to your own take so to speak and it was coming from a place of encouragment not disrespect.

But it's clear now that's not what we are talking about. Just condescension.

For a start you not up there you down there below. I never disrespected anyone. I only responded to post of those who have gone out and start throwing shades at their country for no reason. They started the rubbish.

Again i say it people like you are weak. I mean it and this time am not sorry. The America was fought through by men. Like Luther. Some of which payed the ultimate price. Your kind are free loafers. You Waite for real men to do the hard work and you profit. You like women in thinking. That's why I called you out as weak.

If you want to travell do so but shut your mouth about disrespecting the country. Because na only bastards de stand afar off point him papa compound with left.

With all the testimonies from our doctors in the diaspora, any medical doctor that refuse to try his luck outside the shores of Nigeria is probably working with a fake certificate.
Federal government didn't send anybody to school. All of you should move, please. We will make do with self medication and herbs till we are able to relocate too. There is nothing to fight for in this country again. Let us abandon the country for the thieving leaders.

good answer. this policy must have changed. but can you answer this? why do doctors go on strike and tell relatives to come pick their sick wards? it's unprofession and against medical ethics to endanger patients

eyinjuege:

Drs do not have access to medicines in government hospitals.
The matrons do, and bring out as they see fit once they are supplied by the pharmacy.
Nurses give the medicines, hence are in charge of them.
The Dr usually just writes what they want the patient to be given, and the beautiful nurses get the medicines into the patients.
Any other misconceptions you need to be answered?

Typical Nigerian mentality everyone wants to be rich, who forced you into studying medicine at the first place? And who even told you doctor is a profession that makes you rich? It’s a profession that calls for human services and not riches, blacks are one kind human beings, always thinking of money, that’s why we are chronically poor..

Go and preach this one to doctors in the US and UK
You should even ask then to work for free
Rubbish

Which wicked government?
I'm beginning to have disdain for this so-called doctors.

Are they the only profession in Nigeria that are less paid? What about the engineers, pharmacists, nurses, lawyers, accountants, teachers and so on. The pay rate currently is a true reflection of the state of economy, which is really shambolic. Every profession is very important in their own right, and doctors shouldn't feel they are more preferred and golden. If others withdraw their services you will understand everyone's importance.

Right from Nigeria, I have been doing my parts. I love Nigeria and everywhere I go,I always represent the positive parts of the country. We are over blessed as a nation but we don't have good managers and good followers.
datamillionaire:
Good to know that. You see, Nigeria can be a much better place if all Nigerians are responsible citizens.

How honest are you in your day to day dealings with your colleagues and business associate?

Do you make a promise and fulfill it?

Do you in your own little ways and at your level do your own part to make the world and Nigeria in particular a better place?

These are some of the questions a truly mature, honest Nigerians need to ask himself. Everything is not always about government, you know.

A country cannot have a good, responsible government if the average citizen of the country is unevolved and irresponsible.

PEACE

Everyone is caught up by the greedy bugg. Banking sector don't pay better than health. You just not figured your sectors out intelligently. Every institution is viable. As long as there are sick people and dieing people and birth.. doctors will always be relevant and they are far relevant than bankers. But you should look inwards within your structures. I feel those stealing from you are mainly amongst your Institutes. Not the government politicians per say.

If you read for many decades and you can't figure how to outwit and get what you want from semi agbero politicians, but choose to turn and run then the stupidity is on you and no one else. Am sorry but am not. We taking like men now. Or maybe they are getting help from withing your ranks fellow highly rank doctors. Either ways. It's not the politicians it you.

You need doctors with warrior hearts to fight for you even in your profession. Weaklings will always act out their first instinct at the sight of trouble. Which is turn and run to safety.

No that's pointing to social reason. Our major problem is you and me..

Half the people in that street that days will steal in their office at the drop of a hat. The country is not working is because you and me is not. Start from the Individual to the social groups.

The enthicity you mention. Is not just some abstract event. It's carried out by you and me. Individauls. we are to lazy to look inwards. That's were the real problem is. Challenge men on individual base and see how dumb they stare. They have never been pushed hard about the reality of personal responsibility. That's why we are heavy on attributions

Because they have the right to go on strike and withdraw their services.
They are not slaves and are human like everyone else, and you cannot force them to do a job they don't want to do.
It has been proven time and time again, that the only language the Nigerian government understands is industrial actions like strike.
This is a fact, regardless of the party or government in power.
Drs abroad can also withdraw their services if they want to, and have had such talks about doing that in the past. But their governments are reasonable and it hasn't always been about the pay for them. Their pay isn't so great either but they are paid living wages, meaning you can still afford to live relatively OK on what you're paid.
They're not used and abused by their government, as Drs are in Nigeria.
They're not expected to cater to hundreds of patients as they are in Nigeria
Drs abroad have the opportunity for further training, without nepotism in their selection process for juicy training posts.
Those are part of the reasons they go on these strikes. The working conditions are not even favourable for the training, nothing to work with.
In Nigeria, you should know someone before you can even be offered a training post to specialise. There is a list from the Oba, list from the governor, list from one senator, list from one board director etc before it can even reach you that knows no body and passed the exam cut off.
Why would you want to stay back in such a place where you can never progress and be on the same spot forever?
You're treated like a human being abroad.
Do you think the countries hustling to poach Drs from other parts of the world don't know what they're doing?
They would have preferred Drs trained in their own countries but their own indigenes are not interested in wasting time studying for so long in the university, owing student debt and coming out and paid just basic pay either.
They are able to earn more without their university degrees by just starting their own business or even doing hand jobs like being a builder, mechanic, plumber so their indigenes start learning all these trades as soon as they finish secondary school.
Didn't Ngige tell the whole world that Nigeria has more than enough Drs?
So why the moaning now ?

Is it their fault that the naira is useless? Let the Naira equal a dollar and watch Nigerians leave in droves to study abroad. Besides other professionals pay similar tuition fees and enjoy good remuneration for their services. Should one become a pauper just because he is saving lives? Do these people have no dependents? The new National minimum wage was not implemented but you lots have kept quiet for over 2 years despite souring market prices. Hold your government accountable and leave others to fight for their welfare

Whatever the government does seriously affects the masses a naked truth..

Well , having one stream of income causes all this frustration.

If you focus on this government for your livelihood, you will suffer lack and wants despite your profession.

Just imagine the stress of graduating as a medical doctor..

Do medical doctors even need to ask for salary increment?

Well I have a free video that reveals how to make money at the comfort of your room or office..

There's one critical area of this crisis people are not looking into, the notorious Chief Medical Director of the hospitals who themselves are Professors of medicine but most of them are incompetent, arrogant and fraudulent.
Even if govt pumps much money into the health sector, the corrupt CMDs will embezzle the funds, make budget for new equipment but they'll refurbished ones that will malfunction soonest and other conduit pipes to syphon funds for hospital management.
They don't maintain equipment but keep shifting all blames to govt, unfortunately and sadly, they're unaccountable, untouchables because heavy politicking and influence.

I will agree with you that medical education in Nigeria is very cheap as compared to those countries the doctors are migrating to.Most of us were there before we were asked to change to basic medical faculty cos of limited space in clinical faculty. So I know,in terms of cost, government is subsidizing it.
But come to think of it, how can someone suffered for that number of years to get through the medical school and upon graduation, you offered him/her employment with a peanut pay of #110,00k?
You said we should speak the truth n call a spade a spade.I am calling a spade a spade now, that it's an act of sheer wickedness and insensitivity of the highest order for a country like Nigeria to still pay a medical graduate a paltry sum of 110k in this 21st century even if all the medical students were/are on federal government scholarship.
Let's assume the person is resident at P.H,ABJ or LAG,hw do you want him to pay high cost of house rent, feeding, electricity bills, water rate, wear clothes, pay transport to n fro the work place on daily basis?
If according to this post,a house officer earns 1.6 mills per month in Saudis or Uk,what on earth stops Nigeria government from paying that same category of doctors at least 300--400k a month which is not even upto a quarter of the pay there? Then those consultants earning 7.5mills there should at least be paid bwt 1.5--2mill a month n see if this exodus of movement won't stopped or at least reduced to barest minimum.

The major problem is that the salary isn't regular. Does the fg have the right to owe people anyhow just because they subsidised education? According to the DRS, assuming the pay comes in regularly despite it being meagre they'd manage. But, the government keeps owing! How do you expect them to survive if their salaries are always delayed, sometimes 2 months and salary isn't in.
People defending the fg because of cheap education are fools.
