Governor Godwin Obaseki has revoked the certificate of ownership of Garrick memorial secondary school, situated along Ekenwan road Benin City.

This was contained in a letter dated 9th of September 2021 released by the EdoGIS, a sector of the government in charge of the issuance of the C of O in Benin city

ChrisOsaMedia media group gathered that the said building before revocation by the Governor, belongs to family of Mr Kehinde Garrick Osemwingie who was one of the directors in the Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and APC campaign team in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election.

It has been insinuated on social media that the Governor is allegedly going after all those who in one way or the other supported his opponents Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the just concluded Edo Governorship election which he was declared winner

Obaseki has reportedly revoked the C of O of properties belonging to some members of the APC including the former Deputy Governor of the state Dr Pius Odubu

The reason for for the revocation was stated as overriding public interest.

This man has quickly metamorphosed into a dictator ruling without quorum of the house of assembly except the few ones willing to lick his butt, no commissioners, making vaccines mandatory or you are denied services(666 cool ), demolishing private property without reason, and everyone just kept silent.

If the land/property in question was where Reihand Bonke crusade was held that year that there was stampede, Obaseki should rescind the revocation. The school there is more than 30 years old, for all I know
I support Obaseki as a governor, but on this one, NO. Please governor, review this and may be increase their tenement and not revocation. Except the lease is over 100 years in which case the land revert to state government, but revocation over political affiliation is a NO NO!

I see no genuine reason why the land where that school is located CofO is going to be revoked by the Edo state government.

You're not making sense. Do the land not belong to the school?
